Although Bill Belichick isn’t having the best season of his career, he remains a favorite among NFL teams. If the New England Patriots and owner Robert Kraft parted ways with the future Hall-of-Famer, multiple teams would likely line up to sign him. According to the legendary QB Cam Newton, his former team, the Carolina Panthers, would be the best fit for the 71-year-old coach.

Belichick recently achieved his 300th regular season victory, placing him third on the all-time list of regular season wins, behind Don Shula (328) and George Halas (318). However, as the team isn’t on the greener side this season, with only two wins and nine disappointing losses, Belichick’s role to remain with the Foxborough team is now under scrutiny. Speculations suggest that Kraft could part ways with his proud coach sooner. So, which team might be the next lucky one to acquire Belichick? Cam Newton has his own opinions on it.

Although Cam Newton does not have a good bond with his former boss, David Tepper, he hasn’t stopped predicting his next move for the Carolina Panthers. In a recent episode of Newton’s 4th & 1 podcast, the star QB expressed his belief that Tepper might aim for Bill Belichick to be the team’s next coach. He said, “I think (David) Tepper, knowing what I do know, he’s hoping that he can land Bill Belichick. That right there will be a win-win-win-win for David Tepper.

Furthermore, Newton supported his statement by giving reasons, saying, “The thing that I know would be the enticing lure to it, is because Tepper will give him everything that he would need. And also that will allow Belichick to say, ‘You know what, things didn’t work out (with Patriots), now I can show you I can do it somewhere else.'” The Panthers are currently on a trajectory similar to Bill Belichick’s team. They have only secured one win this season and lost 10 matchups. As a result, owner David Tepper recently released coach Frank Reich, the third HC to be let go in his five years in charge.

So, will Belichick find his place with the Panthers if he leaves his 23-season career team? Well, no confirmation has been made yet. However, on the other hand, contrary to Newton’s stance, another candidate whom Tepper could also consider has shown interest in the Panthers’ HC job.

To be in the coach’s position of any NFL team is alluring. However, coaching the Carolina Panthers could be quite challenging. The firings of Matt Rhule, Frank Reich, and Ron Rivera under the ownership of David Tepper make this position a bit hotter.

Since Rhule and Reich were still left with a significant contract amount, this might make the job seem intriguing for a new coach. So, who can take up this position? According to the reports, the former Panthers’ player Greg Olsen has shown interest in the vacancy. However, Olsen has little coaching experience; he has only coached his son’s Pop Warner team. So, picking him for the HC position could be challenging, too.
