The Carolina Panthers did not open their new season well. The team is already trailing 0-2 and fans are looking for somebody to blame. With the humiliating score during the matches, one would think of holding the quarterback accountable. However, the former NFL star doesn’t think that Bryce Young deserves all that.

Chris Canty recently released a bold statement about how Young is not the one to blame for the Panthers’ declining success probability this season. Instead, he would like for the fingers to turn and point at the owner of the team instead.

Recent reports confirm the possibility that Young will soon be benched, only for Andy Dalton to take over as the QB number 1. The NFL online community feels bad for the young quarterback because, in the end, the backlash on the internet can affect his mental health.

Canty, who was formerly a defensive lineman in the league, said, “You gotta call him the genesis of the problem.” He later added, “At some point, you have to address the source of the dysfunction that’s not allowing you to get the best out of your people in the franchise, and that is the owner David Tepper with the Carolina Panthers.”

According to Chris, benching any star wouldn’t solve the issue because it is David Tepper who is not doing his job of letting the athletes reach their full potential. With the Panthers up in chaos and headed toward their third week, let’s learn why Bryce Young is getting benched.

The coach doesn’t have faith in Bryce Young

As a quarterback, Young was responsible for heading the offense on the field. Despite the heavy responsibility, the scoreboards at the end of both games were nothing to boast about. The Carolina Panthers’ fans in the stadium were most probably disappointed in their favorite team. As per sportscasters, this is a big reason why Young is getting benched. His inability to rally the team and score points for Carolina forced the head coach Dave Canales to go ahead with this decision and let Young sit out the regular season until he is needed on the gridiron.

Although the team seems to have a plan as to who will be the QB work from now on, Ian Rapoport has some insightful thoughts about this call. He thinks that the head coach doesn’t necessarily need to comply with David Tepper if this was his suggestion, nor does he need to think primarily about winning. Rather, Rapoport says, Canales should also consider the impact that his decisions will have on the locker room individuals who are already doing their jobs. Will this be a good decision to make if David Tepper is to be held accountable?
