The marriage of Patrick Mahomes and Davante Adams would be a match made in heaven. But the complexities of Chiefs-Ravens relationship might not let this union happen. For decades, both teams have been going at each other’s throat and the feud is as lively as ever. The Las Vegas Raiders “hate the red” and so, this union is unfathomable to many.
Unlike Michael Irvin, not a lot of people have more insights about the cutthroat competition between these divisional rivals. For him and the rest of The Rich Eisen Show crew, it would be blasphemy and borderline disrespect to Al Davis if the team let this trade materialize. Check out what he said to Amy Trask and Suzy Shuster about this less-than-ideal trade.
Shuster picked Irwin’s brains about Davante Adams going to the Chiefs and then Amy Trask interfered saying Al Davis might be “whacking the top of his coffin” in regret. It’s not surprising that the 3x Super Bowl winning wide receiver agreed to the host of the show.

“Al Davis will be whacking the top of that casket. I’m going to tell you right now, everybody’s going to be whacking the top of a casket because it’ll k-ll us all. It will k-ll us all if they send Davante Adams to the Chiefs. It will be over,” Irwin said on The Rich Eisen Show as he proceeds to give his reasons. The Chiefs would play Madden if they got their hands on Adams.
Per Irwin, coaches like Andy Reid, Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan know exactly how to utilize a receiver playing “outside.” Reid’s “great offensive mind” has allowed the Chiefs to pick people like JuJu Smith-Schuster who were “not doing much” and turn them into stars. The bottom line is, that Adams going to the Chiefs will give them an unfair advantage; a cheat code of sorts.

Does Davante Adams joining the Chiefs seem plausible?
With Rashee Rice’s injury, Isaiah Pacheco and Hollywood Brown gone, Patrick Mahomes has lost all his primary weapons. For some reason, his connection with Travis Kelce is also stale. Mahomes at this point needs a vet to come in and put in the work. Not to mention that #17 is chasing a ring and the Kansas City Chiefs give him a shot at it.
What’s your perspective on:
Would Davante Adams joining the Chiefs be the ultimate betrayal for Raiders fans?
Have an interesting take?
Think about the stories that will come out of KC when Davante Adams wins a lone Super Bowl ring while helping the Chiefs do what has never been done before in the history of the game; 3-Peat. But that’s all smoke and mirrors for now. No one has all the answers, not even the Las Vegas Raiders WR, who hasn’t been in touch with the HC Antonio Pierce after his controversial social media stunt.

You’d be the judge of the situation and let us know what you think the WRs future holds. The 6x Pro Bowler trying to join the New York Jets is old news now, what we’re waiting to see is whether both teams will end a rivalry that dates to the ‘60s and break the stalemate. In the meantime, Adams will wait it out till and nurse his hamstring injury.
