While the NFL players prepare for the playoffs, those out of contention are finding adventure in the college football games. The AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas was filled with fans as Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Texas Longhorns by 28-14. It was a good game overall. But something happened in the game that reminded fans of the former NY Giants QB Daniel Jones.

On a fourth-and-2 play at the 9:50 mark in the 4th quarter, Buckeyes QB Will Howard decided to rush with the ball. He ran for a good 30 yards but tripped, stumbled, and fell with the ball in his hands. He wanted to score the TD as the scores were tied at 14 each. Jones’s similar play four years prior, in 2020, came to fans’ minds.

During the week 7 game against the Eagles, Daniel Jones ran with the ball for 80 yards before tripping and falling down. He was just 15 yards short of the end zone when he fell. It was hilarious. However, this time, the results were different. While the Giants lost the game by 21-22, the Buckeyes came out victorious.

Howard will be up for grabs in the 2025 NFL Draft. But he would want to perform better than Daniel Jones, who demanded a release from the Giants mid-season in 2024. He is currently on the Vikings roster. Howard is waiting for the draft. According to Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network, the Colts might draft the college QB in the 6th round (190th overall). That’s not very promising.

However, the fans enjoyed the game and could not get over Howard’s rush to take his team ahead. It indeed was hilarious.

Fans compared Will Howard to Daniel Jones

During the game, fans were happy to watch the Buckeyes QB attempt a rush like Daniel Jones. While one fan wrote, “Will Howard just Daniel Jones’ed,” another fan praised Howard for his decision and mentioned, “Great call…even tho he pulled a Daniel Jones😂”

One person used some imagination while describing Jones’ reaction to Howard’s run. He posted a meme of Leonardo DiCaprio with the caption, “Daniel Jones watching Will Howard fall on his way to the end zone.” One fan had no idea about the history when he clicked on the video but was left laughing and tweeted, “Seeing this notification i genuinely had no idea what was going to happen😂”

Calling it a potential meme, another fan reminded everyone that the Buckeyes scored a touchdown on that drive and won the game later. He commented, “This would have been a meme forever if they didn’t score a touchdown.” That’s right. But it could definitely pop up later.
