The Lions have been roaring this season under Dan Campbell‘s leadership. The 49ers hosted the Jared Goff-led Lions at Levi’s Stadium in Week 17. And Lions fans were pretty excited to watch their team play. So much so, that a fan had traveled miles to watch his team take down the Many fans would have, but this one caught the attention.

This die-hard Lions fan traveled 154 miles to catch the game and had a very specific reason for making the trip. He posted a photo on Instagram, tagging Holly Campbell, with a sign that read, “Traveled 154 miles to see how big Dan’s balls are.” Holly couldn’t help but join the fun. Reposting the story on her account, she captioned, “You gotta love the attention to detail (laughing emoji).”

You have to appreciate the creativity of some fans. During these intense games, moments like this feel like a breath of fresh air. And the week 17 game was no joke. Even though the 49ers are out of the playoff race, they didn’t back down. Brock Purdy put up a show with 377 yards and three touchdowns. But in the end, they fell seven points short. On the other side, Lions QB Jared Goff was just as impressive, racking up 303 yards and three touchdowns of his own.

At this point, Dan Campbell’s squad couldn’t afford to lose, and honestly, losing wasn’t even on the table. After all, their HC is famous for his ‘lionhearted’ calls. The whole ‘balls’ joke started back in December after the Lions edged out the Packers in a nail-biter during Week 14. Since then, neither the fans nor Campbell’s family have been able to stop running with it.

Some coaches in the league get roasted for their bad calls, but Dan Campbell? People love him for his gutsy decisions. Remember that Week 14 game when the Lions barely beat the Packers, 34-31? Fans couldn’t stop hyping him up. He went for a game-winning first down on fourth-and-inches with the score tied and only 43 seconds remaining on the clock. After that win, a user commented, “Biggest balls in the NFL.”

And that’s how the Lions’ HC earned that label, folks. Since then, fans haven’t been able to let the whole thing go. Every time the Lions pull off a win, you can count on the ‘balls’ jokes making a comeback, it’s like a tradition now. Even the Campbell family joined in on the joke over Christmas. Holly Campbell shared a photo where she, Dan, and their kids were all rocking red t-shirts with ‘I have big beautiful balls’ written on them. You’ve gotta give it a solid 10/10 for creativity! To top it off, Holly captioned the post, “A big beautiful Christmas!!!” Talk about fully embracing the fun and Ms. Campbell might give you some notes.

Anyway, the Lions have one last game to wrap up the regular season, and it’s against the team that’s been breathing down their neck for that top spot. Yes, the Vikings. Both teams have already punched their tickets to the playoffs. But now it’s all about locking down the NFC North title. This is the divisional rivalry game everyone’s been waiting for. So buckle up, NFL fans, the final week is here, and it’s about to be intense and packed with action.
