The Detroit Lions have come up as a strong team this season with 14 wins and just 2 losses. The latest victory for Dan Campbell’s team was against the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night football. And now as they head towards the final regular matchup of this season, Campbell’s wife seems to be excited.
2025 is kicking in! But before that, Dan Campbell’s wife, Holly Campbell, made sure to announce a major upcoming plan for the head coach to her 61.2k followers. She shared a story on her official Instagram account featuring the HC’s smiling screenshot, which she took during her FaceTime with Campbell.
In the story, she revealed one plan of Dan Campbell and that is – “Next we TAKE THE NORTH” in the caption. With this, Holly made it clear that the Lions and their head coach’s next plan in 2025 is to take up the NFC North Divisional title, and eventually the conference.

In addition to that, Dan Campbell’s wife checked some of the plans in the list, writing, “FT, W, No new house.” Probably, these were the plans of the couple this time in 2024 which were fulfilled. Moreover, summing up the fruitful days, Holly further wrote some hashtags – “#lifeisgood” and “#asgoodasitgets.”
Dan Campbell and Holly’s wish is likely going to be true. The Lions are just one step behind to achieve the title. But before that, the coach’s decision to field starters in the week 17 game is still creating a buzz.
Dan Campbell takes a risk: playing starters in week 17
The Detroit Lions pulled off a thrilling 40-34 win against the 49ers, with their starters, securing their 14th victory of the season. He went with his starters, who played throughout the game on both sides of the ball. The game wasn’t that important, given the team’s current status (the Lions are already into the playoffs, while the Niners are eliminated). However, still true to Campbell’s “full-throttle” promise, the Lions went all-in. Well, they were lucky enough that the players were safe and didn’t get injured in Week 17.
Just, Penei Sewell suffered a thumb injury in the first half, but he played through the game. But the major thing here is, what was the point of bringing all the players to play an unimportant game? And that’s what puzzled the Detroit fans. What if the key players have got injured? The Lions are on the road to a heavy competition. No doubt, this team has been on fire, winning 13 of their last 14 games and staying undefeated on the road. They’ve proven they can handle pressure, but the real challenge is keeping the players safe. Additionally, the next step is crucial.

So, what’s next up for Dan Campbell’s team? A showdown with the Vikings at Ford Field! This isn’t just any regular game—it will be for the NFC North title. The team who wins this will get the No. 1 seed, and eventually a first-round bye and home-field advantage. So, Dan Campbell will fully try to compete with his rival and lead the team to success. But if they lose? They drop to the No. 5 seed and face a tough road game in the Wild Card round. The no. 5 seed in the future will have to face off with either the Rams or the winner of the Falcons and Buccaneers.
Nevertheless, the Lions barely edged out the Vikings earlier this season in Week 7, winning 31-29. But this time, the stakes are sky-high. It’s do-or-die, and the Lions know it.
