It’s going to be a special game for the Detroit Lions. For the first time in three decades, the Lions have clinched a playoff berth by being at the top of their division. The last time they were at the top was in 1993. But now with having to face the Dallas Cowboys in an away game, will they manage to beat them and bring that momentum to the postseason games?
As the anticipation builds for the game, who will be playing in the game, and who has been ruled out? Since both teams have clinched a playoff berth, can the Cowboys manage to tie both teams’ record at 11-5 by winning this game?

Both camps are littered with injuries, but the Cowboys seem to be doing a tad bit better. Lions Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson has been ruled out for the game due to a pectoral injury, and linebacker James Houston and tight end Brock Wright will be sidelined as well due to ankle and hip injuries, respectively. Cornerback Cameron Sutton has been listed as “Questionable” due to a toe injury, while the statuses of six other players have not been specified.
The Cowboys, meanwhile, have no players designated as either “Out” or “Questionable” which is a good sign. Nine players have their status as “Unspecified” which means it is likely that they will play on Sunday. Their depth chart looks solid with quarterback Dak Prescott and star wideouts CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks set to rock the gridiron.
The Lions also have their starting eleven fortified with all the key players. QB Jared Goff will be playing along with his key offensive weapons, tight end Sam LaPorta, and running backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. So, which team is set to clinch victory on Sunday Night Football?

For the Cowboys, it seems that they will have the upper hand when it comes to offense. Coming out of their bye week in Week 9, their defensive back squad stands last in defensive pass EPA. Can Dak Prescott, who has been a top-three quarterback and is in the running for the NFL MVP title, manage to pick apart the Lions’ defense?
On the defensive side of the ball as well, Micah Parsons’ talent on the edge as a disrupter will be a big threat for the Cowboys’ O-line. QB Goff has struggled against pressure and instead of “grace under pressure” has often made inaccurate and panic passes when threatened. This is even more scary for Lions’ fans as the Cowboys have the eighth-highest blitz rate in the league. It looks like an uphill battle for the Lions, with most analysts also favoring the Cowboys over them.
