North Carolina and Florida seem to be struggling to have proper aid in a time of peril. The death toll is on the rise with each passing day. Celebrities of the NFL community are not only extending a helping hand but urging others to support the cause as well. One among such celebrities is Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott’s Girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos.

A sommelier by profession, Sarah implored netizens for aid on her Instagram Story, captioned “Helicopters needed!”. She shared a video message of a National Guard and an NGO member Jonathan Howard, who urged for the immediate need for helicopters to carry out rescue missions in the Hurricane Helene-affected terrains. 

As per the US Department of Agriculture’s official estimate, Hurricane Helene swayed away crops incurring a loss of over $7 billion. Also, according to an Associated Press report, “Moody’s Analytics expects $15 billion to $26 billion in property damage. AccuWeather’s preliminary estimate of the total damage and economic loss from Helene in the U.S. is between $95 billion and $110 billion.

As per reports, millions of people are facing power failures in the aftermath of the category 4 storm that struck the Big Bend Region of Florida on Thursday night.

The state of which Sarah Jane Ramos is an alumnus and her sister is a student, Tampa Bay, Florida is the worst hit area by Hurricane Helene. Apart from the Dallas Cowboys QB’s girlfriend, the NFL community extended a helping hand.

NFL community pours support for ‘Helene’ affected States

Amidst the catastrophe, the NFL community stands united supporting North and South Carolina.  Former App State player and Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither urged his fellow teams to aid the town of Boone. Not only that. The NFL teams and owners will donate $8 million to Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

Alongside this, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers have pledged donations in relief. Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins and Baker Mayfield of Tampa Bay Buccaneers have pledged to donate $50,000. The storm devastated the home states of both athletes.

Earlier, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the NFL came together to designate NFL stadiums as “mission-ready locations” to act as emergency shelters, and makeshift hospitals for the affected people. A similar scenario happened back in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina ravaged Louisiana. Back then, over 20,000 people took refuge in the Superdome, the home stadium of the New Orleans Saints.

At this time of peril, the whole NFL community is hopeful of all affected people to feel better and get all the help that they need.
