Two years ago, the Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered an injury to his face. It happened in the Week 10 clash against the Atlanta Falcons. However, the interesting part is that the scar remains visible. Astonishingly, though, this injury suffered by the QB was because of his teammate. So, what is the story behind the two-year-old injury?

The injury suffered by Prescott was different, as it was not a career-threatening or season-ending. It has a lighter tone as he sustained it during the celebration the Cowboys were making while defeating the Falcons 43-3, which is an astounding feat. During the game, Dak Prescott belted out three touchdowns. Everything was going great, but Prescott still left the field with a cut on his cheek. And it was nothing concerning, as most injuries are heartbreaking, but this one left a memorable scar.

Two years ago, in an over-the-top win against the Falcons, the Cowboys were getting happier with each winning point and expressing their joy on the field with many celebrations. After giving a game-winning performance, Dak Prescott left the field in the second half and was replaced by QB Copper Rush. Prescott removed his helmet and joined the celebrations from the sidelines. But in a moment of celebration, he suffered a face injury, and the reason will leave you in splits.

David Helman highlighted the incident by posting on X. He addressed the cut on Prescott’s cheek and clarified, “He didn’t get it running into the end zone. He got it after one of Cee Dee Lamb’s TD catches.” After the catch, he congratulated WR CeeDee Lamb and didn’t realize he had taken his helmet off. This was when Lamb head-butted Dak Prescott.

David Helman added: “The hardest hit of the day was Cee Dee Lamb.” Well, indeed, and the face cut will be remembered as the token of their emphatic victory. Prescott didn’t join the game afterward but returned in the next that goes on to show how tough the 30-year-old QB was two years ago.

This year, he is performing better than ever and not giving other teams any chances, but he needs to be careful about his teammates.
