What the hell? It hadn’t even been an hour into the NFL’s legal tampering window, and we already got our first blockbuster contract. It’s like franchises were just waiting for this window to open so that they could throw cash around and get the players they had their eyes on. Well, the first big money move comes from Jacksonville as they aim to strengthen their last-ranked pass defense. And to sort that mess out, the Jaguars are counting upon a Cowboy, who was slated to hit the unrestricted free agency market on March 12.

The Jaguars have just announced they are signing veteran Cowboys CB Jourdan Lewis to a 3-year, $30M contract with $20M in guarantees. That deal made Lewis the highest-paid nickel CB in the league. Deserving? Well, ask Dak Prescott! His reaction to Lewis signing this massive deal said it all. Prescott feels it’s a home run signing for the Jaguars as he reacted to his former teammates’ new deal saying, “The Most Deserved!” on his Instagram story.

Actually, he is kind of right, you know. Lewis will only turn 30 in August and has already spent 8 years with the Cowboys since getting picked out of Michigan in 2017. He comes with a wealth of experience, appearing in over 115 regular season games and 4 postseason clashes. Throughout his 8-year stay in Dallas, Lewis recorded 10 INTs, 44 pass breakups, 9.5 sacks, 19 tackles for loss, 5 FF, over 350 combined, and 275 solo tackles.

Jacksonville is getting someone who has been the cornerstone of the Cowboys defense for a long time. So, it remains to be seen how he will perform in the Jags’ secondary under new defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile. It will take some work to turn around the league’s worst defense into a better spot next season. But there’s one thing for sure: Lewis will play a massive part in the revolution the Jags are trying to pull off under their new regime.

While Prescott could be happy for his former teammate’s new chapter, for him, it’s not a great time to be a Cowboy. Why? That’s because even thousands of miles away from home, Prescott is still getting taunted for his affiliations to Dallas.

Did the Jaguars overpay for Jourdan Lewis, or is he the key to fixing their defense?

Eagles fans don’t miss a beat to rub salt in the Cowboys’ wounds

Just last month, Prescott gave a bold take on the comparisons between his Cowboys and the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Eagles. “I feel like we’ve competed with the Eagles and beat them for the most part when we’ve played the. I don’t want to say. Check the record, right now. So credit to them. They’ve earned it, and they deserved it by all means. But yeah, we’re very close.” Sure, Prescott—very close indeed. I mean, one finished with an abysmal record of 7-10, and another won a Super Bowl. Still close, right?

One won its second Lombardi in 4 years and another hasn’t touched the trophy in over two decades. So, it’s pretty close huh? Maybe that’s why when the Eagles fans came across Prescott at a bachelorette party, they didn’t miss the chance to heckle the Cowboys QB.

In a reel shared by Barstool Philly, a bunch of Philly girls were seen chanting E-A-G-L-E-S!! Eaglessss!!! While Prescott and his fiancee, Sarah Janes Ramos, were captured walking nearby. Like those jeering from the Philly supporters, probably took them by surprise that they didn’t even react. They casually walked away while ignoring those Eagles chants. As for Dak Prescott, he is probably out vacationing with Sarah in the Bahamas as they wait for their second baby together. Surprised? I mean the couple just welcomed their first daughter Margaret Jane last year. And now they are expecting another girl in May.

One insider told Sports Illustrated a couple of months back. “Prescott and Sarah have always planned to have their children close in age.” Maybe that’s why they were a bit too excited for another baby. But whatever happens off the gridiron, Dak Prescott will probably have to familiarize himself with the taunts. That’s because only a Lombardi can now be the perfect answer to those Eagles heckling. And will that happen anytime soon? Well, ask Jerry Jones, he might have the answer.
