Nathaniel Prescott, Dak’s father, comes from a family involved in football. Although he worked as a commercial driver in the Louisiana oil fields and a city bus driver in Austin, his true passion was always the game. Nathaniel’s own football journey began at Grambling State University, where he played as a defensive end and outside linebacker. Despite facing challenges due to injuries, his love for the sport never diminished. It was from Nathaniel that Dak inherited his football talent and enthusiasm.

Although raised primarily by his mother, Dak maintains a strong and friendly relationship with his father. Nathaniel is immensely proud of his son’s accomplishments, especially as Dak fulfills his dream of playing for the Dallas Cowboys, a team that holds a special place in their family.

Peggy Prescott, Dak‘s mother, played an equally pivotal role in shaping his life. Peggy’s love for her children knew no bounds, and she supported them wholeheartedly, even beyond the sidelines of the football field. Prescott said, his mother was someone who was “very selfless, hardworking, loved her boys, did anything for her three boys.” He further added, “I am who I am because of my mom.”

Tragically, Peggy battled against colon cancer, courageously enduring until her passing in 2013 at the age of 51. Her loss was a profound blow to Dak, who was playing quarterback for Mississippi State at the time. Devastated by this loss, Dak found inspiration to honor his mother’s memory and carry on her legacy of resilience and strength.
