Dak Prescott is getting a lot of attention because his contract with the Dallas Cowboys is almost up. The team’s owner, Jerry Jones, hasn’t agreed to a new deal yet, so people are unsure about Dak’s future. Fans are curious about how Dak feels about all this. But Dak himself said he’s not letting it bother him.

TV anchor Mike Greenberg talked about what he thinks Dak should do. He compared Dak’s situation to being a valuable free agent in the media business. He said that if Dak becomes a free agent after this season, he could have lots of options and control how much money he makes.

Greenberg starts by saying he doesn’t think Dak will sign a new deal with the Cowboys. He suggests that Dak should wait and become a free agent after this season. Mike said, “If Dak Prescott becomes an unrestricted free agent after this coming season, which there’s nothing the Cowboys can do, can do to keep him from becoming that, then he will be able to choose his spot, he’ll be able to choose his salary. Half the teams in the league will offer him a trillion dollars, and he can choose where he wants to go.”

Mike further drew a comparison between Pat McAfee’s experience as a highly valued free agent in the media industry and Dak Prescott’s situation. He highlighted the freedom of being an unrestricted free agent, where individuals can choose their destination and negotiate their earnings. Mike noted that while quarterbacks seldom have this opportunity, Dak Prescott is on the verge of experiencing it.

He said, “You don’t just win games with just talent, and you don’t win games on paper and talent is really not decided on paper. So, I understand what it looks like, what it may look like from that side understanding the lack of moves that gets done. I’m confident in the men we have, honestly.”

This season could be crucial for several Cowboys players, including CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Zack Martin. If they don’t make it to the Super Bowl, it could mark the end of an era at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The Cowboys haven’t made it to the Super Bowl since their victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX. Despite being seen as the potential key to breaking this dry spell, injuries and disappointing playoff performances have hindered Prescott’s efforts.

Last season was particularly tough for the Cowboys, who suffered a big loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card game. Despite not being considered the favorites for the upcoming season, Prescott isn’t bothered by that perception. As the deadline looms for Prescott’s contract with the team, there’s a lot of uncertainty but he’s staying focused on winning.
