After Jason Kelce spent 13 seasons with the Eagles, he still grabs every opportunity to be in the team’s facility despite retiring. Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson stated, “He was in the building maybe more than a lot of players this offseason.” Could this mean he might potentially join them as a coach?
Well, that seems like a natural progression for him. However, his father, Ed Kelce, might not be too happy if that takes place. He left a note for his son that rehashes similar sentiments once confessed by a retired Tom Brady.
Ed Kelce shared a CBS article, and that article discussed how he would be a great coach for the Eagles. But the proud father had one problem. “He would be a great coach, but I hope he doesn’t do it. Too much time away from the family,” Ed Kelce wrote on Facebook. Yes, this came from the same person who was seen weeping when Jason Kelce announced his exit.

However, Ed Kelce isn’t wrong here. Coaching is serious business and takes a lot of commitment. It might also hamper the quality time Jason Kelce would want to spend time with his three daughters and wife, Kylie. In fact, during his retirement speech, he stated, “A father who is present, loving, and devoted just may be the greatest gift a child can ask for in our society.” So his priority is to spend time with his family.
And let us not forget how he already has several things going on.
The Kelce brothers continue to host their podcast, ‘New Heights’. He is also reportedly set to join ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown soon’. However, Ed Kelce’s opinion also reminds us of Tom Brady. After retirement, when he was asked what was his focus, he stated, “There is nothing I love more than football, but I have young children … They have watched enough of their dad’s games, and it’s time for me to watch their games.”
But coming back to Kelce, he has three young daughters. He believes in treating them just like boys. From attending Kelce’s games to impersonating him, the girls love football because of their father.

Well, moving further, what is Jason Kelce up to after retirement? He spends a lot of time at the Philadelphia Eagles’ facility. Lane Johnson shared that Kelce would be seen lifting, stretching, and talking in the facility. He would also take advice from people regarding his future.
While Jason Kelce might be looking out for new opportunities, what does his wife, Kylie, think about his potential post-retirement plans?
Despite being ‘good at everything’, Jason Kelce wants to stay away from college football!
In April, Kylie Kelce said, “He’s my husband, so I’m biased, but he’s so good at everything he tries. It’s kind of a pain in the b*tt. Nothing is off the table. He’s an ideas guy, so I think he’s just sort of letting them brew and see what happens.” This statement was issued as speculations pertaining to his role on ESPN during the ‘Monday Night Football pregame show’ started making rounds.
While the former center’s ‘New Heights’ podcast has seen enormous success, no confirmation has been issued regarding the ESPN role. Nonetheless, there are many options on the table for Kelce, who harbors many talents, including the role of a leader.

Regarding his association with the Eagles, the former player clearly stated to the Philadelphia Inquirer in January, “I don’t know what’s going to happen for me, but I do know I still want to be involved in the organization and still want to be a part of it, regardless of what the decision is.”
While being a coach can be a possibility for a 36-year-old, he opened up about how he didn’t want his post-retirement job to consume too much time. On ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’, he shared that the NFL was a big commitment and college football was too much to handle because that would require recruitment, coaching and so much more. This would eat up a lot of his family time.
So, that is a clear-cut no for college football. The Ohio native is more inclined toward high school football and the NFL when it comes to coaching.
