The Dallas Cowboys are no strangers to drama, and the whole Brian Schottenheimer head coach hire? Yeah, it’s got people talking. Jerry Jones doesn’t exactly make quiet decisions, so when Schottenheimer was brought in to lead the team, you knew it was gonna stir up some buzz. But just when it seemed like things were calming down, Caelen Carson hit us with a cryptic tweet that made fans go hold up—what’s going on behind the scenes here?

Carson’s now-deleted tweet, “Show you better than I can tell you, keep talking…” didn’t say much, but the timing was chef’s kiss. It dropped right after Schottenheimer got the head coach job, so you can’t help but wonder if it was a low-key reaction to the move. Was Carson throwing some shade at the new direction the team’s going in? Or is there something more under the surface that’s got him feeling some type of way?

If you look at it from Carson’s perspective, there could be some low-key tension about Schottenheimer’s style. The Cowboys have always been known for their explosive offense, but Schottenheimer brings a more traditional, grind-it-out approach. Maybe Carson’s just not vibing with that, or maybe he feels like the team’s losing its edge. Who knows? But the tweet definitely gives off the vibe that there’s some kind of disconnect brewing.

But, we can say about his coaching style though. He’s big on relying on the run game and play-action, just grinding out those long, clock-eating drives. Back when he was with the Seahawks, the offense was all about that power run game, with Russell Wilson kinda managing the game instead of going full throttle. Same deal with the Jets—he kept things low-key and focused on controlling the ball instead of going for big, explosive plays. So, yeah, it’s not about speeding through the game—it’s about taking your time and getting the job done. But does it always work?

Before we start jumping to conclusions, it’s important to keep it chill. Carson’s tweet could be about a whole bunch of things, not necessarily about Schottenheimer or the Cowboys’ coaching change. In the NFL, it’s all about reading between the lines, and this is just one of those moments we’ll keep watching. And one of those moments just happened as well.

Cowboys loyals feel the team needs a spark, not a step back

Michael Irvin’s isn’t exactly holding back when it’s about the Cowboys’ coaching search. After hearing about Brian, Irvin took to his YouTube channel and straight-up called it out.”With a better name and a better person, the better coach, you can’t be messing around with these no-names.” For Irvin, if the Cowboys wanna turn things around, they need someone with a bigger rep, not just Brian Schottenheimer.

But it’s not like Schottenheimer was the only name in the mix. Jerry Jones and crew have also talked to Robert Saleh, Kellen Moore, and Leslie Frazier for the gig. Still, Irvin does not feel the idea of just promoting from within is a good way to go. He’s looking for a coach who can spark the team and get the energy back up. He’s like, Schottenheimer just doesn’t have that fire. The Cowboys need someone who can bring the heat, not just fill a spot.

Dez Bryant also said Schottenheimer’s hire isn’t gonna get the Cowboys where they need to be. Some people are cool with the move, but others? They’re side-eyeing it hard. Irvin’s point is that the Cowboys need more than just a coach—they need someone who can hype up the fanbase and bring that hope back. It’s not just about winning games; it’s about giving the fans something to believe in.

Irvin’s also frustrated with the whole situation. He’s watching the Eagles and Commanders going hard in the NFC Championship while the Cowboys are stuck in neutral. “A third of Cowboys Nation has never felt the glory of a championship,” Irvin said, and yeah, that hits differently. The Cowboys have the talent, but they need the right coach to finally break through.
