“Man, be real slow comparing people to Lamar Jackson. That’s a multi-time MVP. That’s Mr. Jackson.” That was Mike Tomlin’s response when asked about Jayden Daniels being compared to Lamar Jackson. And honestly, we get Mike’s point. Back in November, when the Steelers coach said this, you could see Daniels’ potential, the flashes of what he’s capable of. Fast forward to now, and he’s backing it up with performances that get you wins. As he gets ready to lead his team on Saturday, a Cowboys player is out here throwing major praise his way.
This time, the young rookie isn’t just getting props for his performance. But Jayden’s being compared to some of the league’s top QBs. And guess who’s saying it? Micah Parsons. The way Jayden Daniels has played as a rookie, he deserves the hype. And Micah Parsons isn’t holding back on that. Micah’s all in on rooting for the young QB as the Commanders prepare to face the No. 1 seed Lions on Saturday. “I can’t go against a guy like that. We’ve only seen two guys in that league that’s not phased like that when it matters the most. And that’s Patrick Mahomes, and that’s Tom Brady,” said Parsons.

The two teams will go head-to-head for the first time since 2022. The last time they faced each other, the Lions walked away with the win. Go back two seasons before that, and it was the same story, another Lions victory, on their home turf at Michigan. And this time too, the Commanders are traveling to Detroit. See, that’s the perks that come with securing the No.1 seed.
Historically, though, the Commanders have had the upper hand. Out of 47 games, they’ve come out on top 31 times. (Not bad, right?) But with the way both teams have been playing lately, Saturday’s game could swing either way. And Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons is all in, rooting for the Jayden Daniels-led Commanders.
Micah Parsons cannot bet against Jayden Daniels
Racking up 3,568 yards and 25 TDs, Daniels has made quite a name for himself in his rookie year. The Commanders QB is tied for 10th place in the touchdowns category this season. And these numbers as a rookie aren’t too bad. At the end of the day, people will remember you for how you played in the crucial games. Look at Sam Darnold — the Vikings QB played well this season, but all people remember now is that he choked in the big game. The same could hold for Jayden as well.
Despite everything, Micah Parsons is backing Jayden Daniels in this big game. “I just can’t bet against a guy like that, so I can only imagine how ready he’s going to be at this moment. And then what makes him so elite is just his ability to move with the ball, just to scramble, get those extra yards, and he’s not afraid to get hit,” said Parsons.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Micah Parsons onto something, or is comparing Jayden Daniels to Brady and Mahomes too soon?

It looks like Jayden Daniels has some pretty big expectations riding on him. Not just from Commanders fans, but from players across the NFL too. Everyone’s been watching his rise, and the pressure’s on, can he live up to the hype? The last time the team won a championship was in Super Bowl XXVI, over three decades ago now. It seems like a dream. So the real question is: can Daniels end that drought and bring the championship home? With the way he’s been playing, it’s not out of the question, but only time will tell.
