Another support for Micah Parsons! The Dallas Cowboys’ main radio station shared surprising news about the relationship between the team and their star defensive player. Shan Shariff, from 105.3 The Fan, mentioned that some people within the organization are not happy with Parsons’ behavior, suggesting he’s rubbing them the wrong way.

Sure, he took the shot at coaching after losing to the Packers. But is that all to drive him down his contract expectations, as Jerry Jones’ team is waiting for the “last minute” to pay the star players? Like some analysts, previous Cowboys Super Bowl champion, Keyshawn Johnson, too, took a dig at Jones’ decision, while defending Parsons.

Do the Cowboys not consider Micah Parsons valuable?

In the latest episode of All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson, he was joined by two-time Super Bowl champion Logan Ryan, along with his son, Keyshawn Johnson Jr. On the show, Johnson expressed frustration with the criticism Micah Parsons received from the Dallas team. He emphasized, “He’s [Parsons] his own person and he has a personality and they want to bottle him up. I don’t know what has he done. I mean other than try and produce on the field to help.”

Johnson further acknowledged Parsons’ tendency to speak up but highlighted his potential as the future highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. He also admitted that the athlete could improve his performance in crucial moments during the regular season but argued against trading him, drawing parallels to his own experience with the Jets.

Additionally, Ryan suggested that the rumors about trading Parsons could be a tactic to gauge interest from other teams, but he questioned the logic of trading such a highly regarded player, especially considering his impact on the field. With “64 total tackles, a career-high 14 sacks, two passes defended, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery” Parsons made it to his third straight Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro honors, this season. Therefore, these analysts believe Parsons should receive what he deserves. But will the Cowboys think the same?

The Cowboys have several contract complications to resolve

There are 15 days left until draft night. There’s a big issue for the franchise this offseason, overshadowed by Jerry Jones’ “all-in” comment in January. Negotiations with Ceedee Lamb are one of three significant contract talks the Cowboys are facing. Dak Prescott’s contract talks have stalled, and Parsons, one of the NFL’s top defenders, is also eligible for a new contract.

In the past, Dallas has made players like Prescott and Zack Martin wait for their contracts, but Parsons might not be willing to wait, especially considering his potential earnings. Prescott could cost over $50 million per year to re-sign, Parsons could command over $35 million per year, and Lamb, if he waits for the Justin Jefferson deal, could seek over $30 million per year. This could lead to a situation where three players combined could cost close to $120 million per year, and the team’s current cap space is $6,743,989.

It’s a complicated situation, and it remains to be seen if all three will still be with the team in the future.
