There is no hidden secret behind how things work at the Cowboys. It’s Jerry Jones’s wishes that get fulfilled. Just before the season, they let go of the linebacker Dante Fowler Jr. and defensive end Dorance Armstrong. Both are now in the Washington Commanders with the head coach, Dan Quinn. Ahead of their week 12 matchup, things are getting heated from both sides. All is not good.
On November 20, Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy was asked about the decision to trade their players. Amazed at their transformation at the Commanders, he said, “I’m proud of those guys. Dante’s off the charts. DA is so damn consistent in the way he’s played. I have been very impressed.” It was all nice until the HC dropped a joke that both might not like, which was, “I hope they play like shit Sunday.” That was mean.

While Jerry Jones’s team is struggling with a 3-7 win-loss record, the Commanders are well off with a 7-4 win-loss record. The difference has been the defense. It has slipped from 5th in the league in 2023 with only 18.5 points per game to 31st in 2024 with 29.3 points per game. But the HC also gave a reason behind trading them off.
McCarthy claimed that it’s the dynamics of the team. There is a financial aspect of the game which needs to be taken care of. But the circumstances are challenging. The America’s Team is also down with injuries. While Dak Prescott is out of the season with a hamstring injury, CeeDee Lamb is facing a foot injury. Everyone, even the ex-players, is noticing it.
The Cowboys’ outcast DE also made some comments ahead of the week 12 game. It would be fun.

Dorance Armstrong comments on Jerry Jones’ team
The Athletic’s Ben Standig interviewed the Commanders’ DE. When asked about the recent situation of the Cowboys, Armstrong replied, “It’s not good. I’ll leave it at that.” That’s enough. It’s the right description.
His previous team must be missing him and the linebacker in 2024. In 11 games this season, Dante Fowler Jr. has 8.5 sacks in 11 games with 25 tackles (16 solo). In 10 games, Dorance Armstrong has 3 sacks in 23 tackles (10 solo). While both players have proved their worth, Jerry Jones’s team is struggling. That’s why some fans were outraged over McCarthy’s antics during the presser. They wanted the coach to answer the questions about the team’s poor performance instead of blaming other players.

The question now is for the Cowboys. Is there any hope left for them? Sitting in the 3rd position in the NFC East and 15th in the conference, the Super Bowl drought might continue this season as well. It’s gloomy for the fans.
