Micah Parsons was expecting something magical to happen with the Cowboys’ 24 pick. He’s planned to bet on Quinyon Mitchell, the cornerback out of Toledo. However, things didn’t go as Parsons planned and the Eagles got to him before the Cowboys did. The Philadelphia Eagles picked Mitchell as the 22 overall pick.
Turns out Parsons and CJ Stroud were live on the Bleacher Report’s live draft show, and the Cowboys LB couldn’t control himself. John Machota who covers the Cowboys for The Athletic reported what went down as the Eagles swooped in on the Cowboys.
Machota went on X and shared Micah Parson’s dismay. The journalist wrote, “Cowboys DE/LB Micah Parsons on the @BleacherReport live draft show on the Eagles drafting CB Quinyon Mitchell: “I mean, I’m utterly disgusted on how lucky the Eagles are. He fell right into their lap. He checks every box. … I think this is a terrific pick. I don’t know how Howie and them get so lucky.”

But the Dallas Cowboys saga didn’t stop there. Moments after, the Dallas Cowboys traded their 24 overall pick to the Detroit Lions. The Lions ended up picking the Alabama Cornerback Terrion Arnold. The Lions also got the 2025 seventh-round pick in conjunction with the 24th overall pick. The decision came out as a shocker to the whole NFL community.
The Cowboys now have pick 29 in the first round and pick 73 in the third round. This move was particularly shocking because the Cowboys could have drafted Duke’s Graham Barton or Tyler Guyton, the Sooners tackle. It’s to be noted that the Cowboys now hold two picks in the third round.
The Cowboys have to pick no. 29, no. 56 (round 2), no. 73 and 87 in round three. Also, they have pick no. 174 in the fifth round, number 216 in the sixth round, and two other picks in the seventh round. All of these actions have been very contradictory to Jerry Jones’ “all in” approach.
What the Dallas Cowboys really need

Common knowledge is that the Dallas team needs a running back right now. So far, no running backs have been drafted. The running back situation of the Cowboys is probably one of the worst ones in the league. The team boasts of Rico Dowdle, who had a 361-yard season last year.
They got their 𝗚𝘂𝘆.

Their other RB, Royce Freeman had a 319-yard season last year, while Malik Davis played 3 games in the last season and has no stats to show for it. Despite all the commotion, the Cowboys ended up picking the tackle, Tyler Guyton, the Sooners tackle. He will be replacing Tyron Smith.
Now that the Cowboys are done with the first round, they might look at round two to fulfil the running back criteria. But this pick might make Micah Parsons just a tad bit happy.
