Jerry Jones’ Cowboys’ short-lived winning streak ended in Week 14 when Joe Burrow’s Bengals handed them a 27-20 defeat. But now, more troubles are brewing for the team as they struggle with injuries from top to bottom. The championship is, anyway, out of their hands, but maybe a wildcard round would have been possible with more wins. That does not seem possible now, as star players DeMarvion Overshown, CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs, and more have a question mark over their health.

The Cowboys fans must be living their worst nightmare this season, or maybe not yet. There’s more bad news, their star LB DeMarvion Overshown has now joined the ‘injured reserve’ straight from the ‘active roster.’ The 24-year-old was rocking the field until he had to leave following an injury to his right leg in the game against the Bengals. The Cowboys have put out an official word that DeMarvion will need surgery to repair the ACL, MCL, and PCL in his right knee. The Cowboys took to their official X handle to wish their young LB a speedy recovery, wishing you a speedy recovery, @AGENT0__!”

You’ve probably heard the phrase ‘Things always come in threes,’ but it seems like the Cowboys are dealing with more than just three right now. To add more to the Cowboys’ woes, their CB Trevon Diggs is sidelined off the field following a knee injury. The CB was already dealing with groin and knee injuries. The Alabama alum also missed most of last season because of an ACL injury. And he seems done for this season too. Diggs will also be undergoing knee surgery that will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

Cowboys WR1 CeeDee Lamb also landed on the injury list after the Bengals game, struggling with a shoulder injury. But the good news for Cowboys fans is that he’s fit enough to play against the Panthers tonight. So, save your tears for now. What’s up with the Cowboys constantly visiting the injury list? RB Rico Dowdle was also in the same boat. But luckily, he’ll have the offensive lineup back in the upcoming game.

Will DeMarvion Overshown be able to play next season?

Injuries hit DeMarvion Overshown pretty badly even before he could make his NFL debut after being drafted. After landing with

Jerry Jones‘ team in the 2023 NFL draft, the 24-year-old was all set to show the NFL world his skills. But alas! Overshown injured his ACL in the preseason. The young LB spent the entire season off the field. In 2024, fans were eagerly awaiting him, and he made a great comeback. DeMarvion has recorded 90 tackles (56 solo), 5.0 sacks, and one interception in 13 games so far this season.

The young LB was having a pretty impressive season

until the recent injury. But you know what the sadder part is? DeMarvion Overshown will not only miss the 2024 season, but he will most likely miss out on the 2025 season too. Yes, you read that right. The LB, who will undergo surgery soon, will need the next year to heal to be healthy enough to play again.

Now this rings a bell. Dolphins LB Bradley Chubb has been going through something similar. In the 2023 season, Chubb suffered a torn ACL that sidelined him for the rest of the season. After undergoing surgery, the Dolphins were hoping that the 28-year-old would make his comeback. But he has not, till now. The LB was placed on ‘physically unable to perform’ and is still struggling. It makes fans wonder if DeMarvion will face a similar fate.

Now, this is something that Cowboys fans would not want to hear, but the fact is the fact. The fans must have been hoping that if not this year, maybe he would have come back strong the next. But with so many players suffering injuries, who knows what will happen next season?

Anyway, for now, just get yourselves ready to witness yet another NFL rivalry: the Cowboys vs. the Panthers, which will be on your screens in an hour.
