Is bringing back Tony Romo the answer to the Cowboys' woes, or just wishful thinking?

The Dallas Cowboys lost another one! The week 10 game was here. And it was not surprising to see that America’s team was on the verge of a whitewash. In the fourth quarter, the Philadelphia Eagles were in the process of defeating the Cowboys as they were ahead 34-6 in the game.

Dak Prescott is currently facing a fear of season-ending injury due to his partially torn hamstring. Cooper Rush, who was at the quarterback position in this game, was unable to show his magic on the field. Hence, this poor situation has now provoked the Dallas fans to demand – bring back Tony Romo.

Although the 44-year-old retired abruptly in 2017, fans still want him to be the quarterback of Dallas. This is evident from the fans’ reactions on social media. A Cowboys fan was spotted holding a placard written: “Romo Go In.” The NFL’s official X account has shared a clip of the same with a caption, saying, “#Cowboys fans are so desperate they want Tony Romo back as their quarterback.”

Romo, who played 13 seasons with the Cowboys, holds several illustrious team records, such as “passing touchdowns (248), passing yards (34,183 yards), and most games with at least 300 passing yards.” He was even selected to 4 Pro Bowls and is still considered one of the best quarterbacks of the Cowboys in NFL history.

Probably, that’s the reason why the fans now want him to come back as the QB of the team and help save their playoff hopes.

The demand is high for Tony Romo after being replaced by Dak Prescott!

Have an interesting take?

Interestingly, after the 2016 season, Tony Romo faced a preseason back injury. This led Dak Prescott to step up as the team’s starting quarterback. Now, fans are calling for a role reversal. They want Romo back as the primary quarterback, hoping he might come out of retirement. This is evident from the fans’s online comments in Week 10 against the Eagles, such as, “@tonyromo @dallascowboys @NFLonCBS Cowboys need to bring Tony back at QB!

The urge to bring Romo back was also seen in the comment. “@tonyromo Get out of the booth and get on the field we need you.” Not only this! One fan even thought that Romo himself wanted to come back to the field after the continuous shame for Dallas. As they said, “How bad does Tony Romo wanna suit up” with laughing and crying emojis at the same time.

Another person on X gave a subtle nod to Cooper Rush, directly ignoring Dak Prescott. They said, “Cooper Rush may be the third-best Cowboys QB in the building today after Tony Romo and Babe Laufenberg!” All these comments tell how important Tony Romo is in the eyes of the Cowboys at this crucial time. They are juggling their quarterback situation after continuous heavy losses and Prescott’s injury scene.

Although Romo isn’t coming out of retirement – as he has also not mentioned anything about it – the fact that fans want him back so badly speaks to his importance.
