Jerry Jones said the Cowboys wouldn’t go big in free agency. But that’s classic him: He doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or what he wants to do! Guess what? Now, Dallas is reportedly making a move for one of the biggest names still on the market—Cooper Kupp.

Yeah, that Cooper Kupp. The one who torched defenses in 2021 and walked away with Offensive Player of the Year honors. The Rams cut him loose, and so, the Cowboys want in.

According to Adam Schefter, Dallas is “pushing to sign” the former Rams star. Makes sense. Last season, CeeDee Lamb was the guy, but the Cowboys didn’t have a true WR2. They tried. It didn’t work. Kupp would fix that in an instant. A healthy Kupp and Lamb on the same field? Dak Prescott wouldn’t hate that.

Of course, the Cowboys aren’t the only ones circling. Per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Seahawks are also in the mix. Not just that, the Ravens were one of the first to get linked with Cooper. So, is Kupp bound for Dallas? Seattle? Baltimore? Or is there a wildcard team ready to swoop in at the last second?

If familiarity matters, both teams have ties that could lure him in. Dallas’ new WRs coach, Junior Adams, coached Kupp back at Eastern Washington and knows exactly what he brings to the table. Meanwhile, Seattle’s pass game coordinator, Jake Peetz, spent 2022-23 with the Rams, working closely with the receivers. Both staffs have a built-in connection—just depends on which one Kupp values more.

And we won’t have to sit through a long, drawn-out saga to find out. According to Schefter, Kupp’s decision could come as soon as today. So, buckle up—this one’s about to hit warp speed.

What’s your perspective on:

Could Cooper Kupp be the missing piece for the Cowboys' Super Bowl dreams, or just another gamble?

The Cowboys want all the weapons they can afford not just Cooper Kupp

Well, well, well. The Cowboys weren’t about to sit back and watch the NFC East arms race unfold without making moves of their own. Overnight, they locked in former Eagles and Panthers running back Miles Sanders on a one-year deal. And they’re not stopping there—Dallas is still working to reel in former Rams star Cooper Kupp. Jerry Jones said they wouldn’t be aggressive in free agency, but here they are, pushing their chips in.

Let’s talk about the backfield first. Dallas had a rough go of it on the ground last season—1,705 rushing yards, just six touchdowns, and a 7-10 record that had fans groaning. They needed a spark. Enter Sanders, who found himself in football limbo after Carolina tried (and failed) to restructure his deal. Now, he swaps one struggling offense for another, hoping to carve out a role behind newly signed Javonte Williams. Could Sanders see more action in Dallas than he did in Carolina? It’s possible. Williams isn’t exactly prime Zeke Elliott.

The irony? Rico Dowdle, Sanders’ replacement in Carolina, just left Dallas for a nearly identical backup role. It wasn’t an official sign-and-trade, but it sure feels like one. Dowdle heads east, Sanders heads west, and both teams are banking on their new RB2 to provide depth behind an unproven starter. If nothing else, it’s a fun twist in the never-ending game of NFL musical chairs.

Meanwhile, the Eagles—Sanders’ old squad—had zero interest in a reunion. Instead, they snagged A.J. Dillon to pair with Saquon Barkley, letting Sanders walk right into the arms of their most hated rival. A guy who once helped Philly get to a Super Bowl now wearing the star? You couldn’t script it better. If there’s any extra juice in those legs, you better believe he’ll want to show it off twice a year against his former team.

And then there’s Kupp. If Dallas closes the deal, they won’t just be adding a solid RB—they’ll be stacking another elite weapon alongside CeeDee Lamb. That’s the kind of move that turns a middling offense into a real contender.
