After week 11 it looks like the New York Jets intend to turn their entire team around. The team has taken a significant move by firing its general manager, Joe Douglas. This was a surprise move by the team’s administration, about which rumors had been circulating for a long time. Although this was a tremendous move, there have been rumors that another big move is on the way. Perhaps this decision puts Aaron Rodgers‘ job as a quarterback in jeopardy.
Although it sounds frightening, this is something that may happen. Adam Schefter, NFL Insider and reporter, has hinted at a probable move by the New York Jets. He was recently present on the Pat McAfee Show where he stated, “Complete overhaul could mean they may try to find a better QB next season to start fresh.”

Pat McAfee also reported that Aaron Rodgers is currently traveling. This suggests that the quarterback may have been unaware of his GM’s firing. We might be reaching, but this means that management can decide to fire the quarterback again next season.
The shocking aspect of the GM’s dismissal is that Douglas’ contract with the team was coming to an end. It was reported that it would have expired after the 2024 season. And there was no talk about whether Douglas intended to renew his contract. However, the team did not want to waste even a few weeks and took the decision mid-season.

Interestingly, Joe Douglas’ firing occurred on a Tuesday morning, just as HC Robert Saleh was fired. First, the HC, now the GM, the team is truly strategizing from the ground up, and Aaron Rodgers could be next in line. Any NFL insider is unsure about the position of the quarterback on the team. One of the insiders even hinted at the Jets’ feelings regarding Rodgers.
The New York Jets are not completely satisfied with Aaron Rodgers
It would be a lie if this wasn’t true. Everyone knows how much the team management expects from the experienced quarterback. Rodgers, on the other hand, has been virtually entirely below average this season. Since 2022, the man has not even completed 300 passing yards in a single game. And this is merely one of the many things that everyone thought Rodgers could do easily.

One of the NFL insiders revealed, “The New York Jets signed up for an MVP-caliber quarterback. They did not get an MVP-caliber quarterback… I don’t think it’s a lock that these guys come back together next year.”
So far it is not looking good for the QB. Only time will tell whether the Jets keep Aaron Rodgers or they will search for a new starter QB.
