“No team in the NFL has started 0-3 and made it to the Super Bowl since 1990,” that’s what Shannon Sharpe had to say after watching Joe Burrow and his Cincinnati Bengals falter against the Washington Commanders. Joey B, Ja’Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins are back, so why haven’t the Bengals turned the heat up?
Joe Shiesty threw for 324 yards and 3 touchdowns, but Shannon Sharpe thinks it’s just “empty calories.” Ochocinco on the other hand stayed true to his roots and argued that the Bengals can still make it to the Super Bowl. Unc wasn’t just going to let it slide so he had a cheeky remark about Joe Burrow chasing his Super Bowl dreams.
Chad Ochocinco Johnson couldn’t put his finger on what exactly was wrong with his Bengals. However one thing was clear to him after the game, the defense didn’t size up tonight. The former Bengals receiver remained optimistic about his team, though, saying that the Cincinnati team might just be 10-3 a couple of weeks from now.

Does it sound unrealistic to you? It sure did to Shannon Sharpe, who didn’t take long to burst Ochocinco’s bubble. “If there’s anybody that can do it, Joe Burrow can do it,” Ocho said with confidence. So, without holding back, Sharpe quipped, “Man, we put man on the moon,” pointing out the near-impossible task that Burrow has set his eyes on.
Sharpe further continued the Nightcap podcast saying, “Hell, anything is possible. They got people living right now with a pig’s heart. So, yeah, anything is possible. It ain’t likely, though.” Even though Burrow threw 3 touchdowns, something just wasn’t clicking in the Cincinnati offense. Clearly, there are some immediate concerns to fix and the post-season is the last thing that Joe Burrow cares about after the sour 38-33 home game defeat.
Joe Burrow’s thoughts on the underwhelming start
Losing to what were considered weak teams like the Patriots and Commanders is very unbecoming of the Cincinnati Bengals. Now, the Chiefs have the same caliber as the Bengals so that defeat still sounds plausible. But considering the fact that the Commanders are a team that didn’t score a TD last week and the Bengals still lost to them is a bit alarming.
What’s your perspective on:
Are the Bengals really as hopeless as Shannon Sharpe claims, or is he underestimating Joe Burrow?

“We’re by no means out of it, but playoffs and winning division is the furthest thing from my mind,” Burrow said. The loss has also led Burrow to spiral down into an existential crisis of sorts. He’s questioning his leadership and thinks he’s got some “critical thinking” to do as the team heads to play the Panthers next week.

“That’ll be some critical thinking that I’ll have to do,” Burrow said. “See what kind of leader I want to be going forward, what I feel like the team needs from me going forward.” But that game wasn’t all that bad. Something happened in this game that hasn’t happened since 1940. It was the first game in more than 8 decades that went by without any turnovers or punts.
However, the Bengals’ defense allowed Jayden Daniels to complete 91.3% of his passes! The Cincinnati HC backed his defense by saying that Daniels is “an athletic quarterback who can make plays with his feet, it’s tough.” With that, the Bengals are headed to play against the Panthers, who have the worst-rated offense in the league. But Andy Dalton may prove to be a problem. Can the Bengals get the first win of the season in the next game? Let us know what you think.
