When they came into week 10, they had 7 wins and 2 losses. The last 3 consecutive defeats have forced the Washington Commanders to change their view about the roster. They are trying to free up some space. And the lesser-experienced players are at the receiving end.
Their 2023 draft pick, Emmanuel Forbes, signed a 4-year, $15 million deal in 2023. But the Commanders GM Adam Peters made a hard decision about the cornerback and has released him from their roster. There would be a salary cap of $9.1 million if he goes unclaimed on waivers. He underwent a surgery for the torn thumb this season. The injuries have forced them to change their plans many times.

After releasing Emmanuel Forbes, they placed their running back Austin Ekeler on the injured reserve (IR) list. He suffered a concussion during their week 12 matchup against the Cowboys. But not only they lost the game, now, they will miss him for the next 4 weeks at least. Without him, they might struggle against the Titans.
“I’ve been very impressed about what I’ve seen so far from them. They got good size inside, mixed between four down and five down. So for sure, it’s a challenge,” the HC Dan Quinn said while talking about their week 13 rivals. But the 2024 season results favor the Commanders. The Titans, on the other hand, have a 3-8 win-loss record.
The coach is also worried about the recovery of their star cornerback. It’s a long way to go.

Dan Quinn gives an update on Marshon Lattimore
On the last day of the trade deadline, on November 5, the team acquired the CB Marshon Lattimore from the Saints. But he has been nursing with a hamstring injury and hasn’t debuted for the Commanders yet. On Saturday, he was out on the practice field. The coach was reviewing the player.
Satisfied with his performance during the drills, Dan Quinn said, “We’re pumped that he’s certainly closer. we’re going to make all decisions with the team’s best interests in mind, but man, is it good to have him back out there and getting going. You can feel his energy about it too.” That’s some great words, but his status for the Titans game is still doubtful. That’s what concerns the teams. They want the cornerback to have some game time before the playoffs.

The team will play in the postseason as they are 2nd in their division NFC East. Among the wild cards in their conference in the 7th position, it’s preparation time for them. More wins they get, the bigger their confidence will get.
