It’s a difficult time for all Russell Wilson fans. The Denver Broncos were off to a rough start this season, but then mid-way things started looking good as they defeated the reigning Super Bowl Champions and the Buffalo Bills. Then, they lost to the 4-11 New England Patriots. Ahead of the New Year’s Eve showdown against their divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Broncos announced that they were going to make a big change in the roster.
What was this big change? They decided to bench the veteran QB in favor of 27-year-old backup QB, Jarrett Stidham. The Broncos are hoping that with two more games left in the regular season, their fortunes will change. And Wilson has accepted this decision wholeheartedly.

Wilson has always been a religious man, and whenever the going gets rough, he takes refuge in the Almighty. This time was no different. The 35-year-old took to X to share a message with his followers: “God’s got me. “ He further added a five-word message, stating “Looking forward to what’s next.” Many fans were wondering what this could mean. When head coach Sean Payton announced that Wilson had been benched for the Chargers game, he did not indicate that he would be benched for the last game of the season as well. But inferring from Wilson’s message, could that be the case?

Wilson was traded to the Broncos in 2022 when they bought him on board to help revive a crumbling dynasty. That season, the Broncos went 5-12. This year, even if they lose the next two games, they will be 7-10.
It seems that Wilson just needs more time to get into form. But Denver seems to be running out of patience and wants the quarterback who won the Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seattle Seahawks. In fact, that’s what one fan wants as well. For Wilson to return home.
Will Wilson return home after 2023?
@LxckTV posted under Wilson’s post, asking the QB to return to the team where he started his NFL career. He even posted a picture of Wilson in the Seahawks jersey. Could this be a possibility, should the Broncos decide to cut their losses and trade him back to the Seahawks?

Another user, @JMurrayWrld, sympathized with Wilson and the tough times that he has to go through. Being benched so late in the season, with just two games left, shows a lack of faith in the player and no one ever wants to go through this feeling.
I’m sorry you going through this man

Michael Ronquillo said that God has plans for him and expressed his gratitude to Wilson for coming to Broncos. He also wished him luck for the future.
You are a true pro NFL player keeping your temper in check no matter the outcome during this NFL season with the broncos and Sean Payton as your Head coach. God has a plan for you for the rest of your NFL career. Good luck with your new journey in the NFL. Thanks for coming to…

@rphfrank, said that he admired Wilson not just as a player on the gridiron, but even as a human when the cameras were not rolling.
I’ve always admired you both as a football player and as a human. You’re one of the good ones, Russ.
