Quarterbacks seem to be the talk of the town this offseason! With almost every team scrambling to get their hands on a good quarterback, the Cleveland Browns seem to have no shortage of them on their roster. Reportedly, Tyler Huntley will now be joining Cleveland from the Baltimore Ravens. After playing as Lamar Jackson’s backup quarterback ever since his tenure with the Ravens (2020-2023), this will be the first time Huntley will explore a new home.

However, the Browns have the starting QB in the form of Deshaun Watson and that might prove to be a challenge for the 26-year-old. Huntley will look to make a statement and prove his prowess, given that he gets the opportunity to showcase the same. Nonetheless, Cleveland’s quarterback position is getting increasingly crowded, considering reports of Jameis Winston’s signing recently. With this latest addition, the Browns offense is beginning to take shape ahead of the upcoming season.

The Browns are having a major shift in the quarterback area of their roster this offseason. Starting QB Deshaun Watson is preparing to return with full force after recovering from his shoulder fracture suffered last season. His backup, veteran Joe Flacco, is reported to have joined the Indianapolis Colts with a one-year deal. Several reports also speculated that Jameis Winston is close to signing a deal and could be a potential addition to the Browns.

In addition, Cleveland has a rookie quarterback, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who was on injury reserve last season. And now they’re getting another quarterback to add to their already-loaded spot. According to Cleveland reporter Mary Kay Cobot, Huntley has reached common ground with the Browns. He might be signing a contract worth the minimum veteran salary and increasing the number of QBs in the team to four.

Huntley had 1957 yards, seven interceptions, 221 completed passes, and eight touchdowns in his four-year-long stay at Baltimore. Addition of Huntley to the team will not only prove to be challenging for him but also for other quarterbacks who might be looking for an opening to perform. Given the packed and powerful QB additions to the side, even Watson’s position appears to be under testing bars. No matter who gets to play, the way the team is coming together looks promising for the Browns.

What does the Cleveland Browns’ roster look like in the 2024 season?

Last season, the Browns successfully made it to the playoffs but fell short of reaching the Super Bowl and stood second in the AFC North. The franchise intends to leave no stone unturned this time around and is working hard to perfect its roster. They’ve already re-signed defensive tackle Maurice Hurst II and signed linebacker Devin Bush and fullback Giovanni Ricci. Moreover, Cleveland has decided to retain their DB, Jaylon Johnson, with a franchise tag.

With the defense positions secured, the team is now focusing on the offense. As of reports till now, Cleveland has four potential quarterbacks in their roster. Watson is currently in rehab for his shoulder injury but has assured that he will return to the field soon. With Ken Dorsey as the new offense coordinator, it will be interesting to see what the new crew transforms into, especially with the packed quarterback position.
