Taylor Swift has made a place for herself in the Chiefs’ camp ever since she started dating Travis Kelce. From baking cupcakes with Patrick Mahomes‘ daughter Sterling to sending gifts and her tour books to Chiefs owner Clark Hunt’s daughters. Not only has she swooned Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s heart, but also his friends and their kids. And the Chiefs’ army is giving her the love right back. Clark Hunt has often shown his admiration for the “New Romantics” singer.

Hunt’s wife, Tavia Shackles, has also formed a strong bond with the pop star. Recently, on her Instagram, Tavia asked Swifties for some help. Here’s the deal: Travis Kelce is nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, and Tavia’s asking Swifties to vote for Kelce. Posting a story on her Instagram, she wrote, “Chiefs fans and Swifties..let’s help @killatrav get this grant for @87running. He’s making a huge impact in KC!!’

Named after Bears RB Walter Payton to honor him, this is one of the biggest honors in the NFL. The Walter Payton Award recognizes players who stand out, not just on the field, but off it as well. This is the second time Kelce has been nominated for this honor. The Chiefs nominated him in 2020 too, but he lost out to Russell Wilson, who was the Seattle Seahawks QB at the time. We all know about the star TE’s contributions on the field, but very few are aware of his philanthropic work.

For a long time, Kelce has been supporting various NGOs and other initiatives to help those in need. He even has his own foundation, called ‘Eighty-Seven & Running,’ named after his jersey number, which he started in 2015. ‘Eighty-Seven & Running’ has its roots in Travis’s hometown in Ohio. Every year, the foundation holds an event in Kansas City with an auto and fashion show, to support causes in Kansas City and Cleveland.

Last year, the Chiefs nominated their star QB, Patrick Mahomes, for the Walter Payton honor. He lost it to Steelers DE Cameron Heyward. So, let’s see if Swifties can help Travis Kelce win it this year.
