Harrison Butker is a great placekicker. The Chiefs owe him for the field goal in the late fourth quarter that pretty much sealed the deal on Sunday. But there’s always another side to celebrities, different from what you see on the gridiron. Butker is quite known for his strong opinions, which often end up stirring controversy. On Tuesday, the Chiefs’ placekicker shared a picture with his family, and Tavia Hunt seems to be loving the caption.

After the win, most of the Chiefs’ players were celebrating with their families, with many sharing the moment on their social media. And after a long time, Harrison Butker also took to IG to share a picture with his wife and kids. “He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations. –Saint Francis de Sales,” captioned the 29-year-old. And if there’s one person in the Chiefs organization who probably loved Butker’s caption. Yes, Tavia Hunt. Most of you know Tavia is a big believer herself. Showing her support for Harrison, she commented, “Love this! (heart and praying emoji).

Tavia didn’t stop there. She took to her own IG to share a long post, giving all the credit for the Chiefs’ success to God. And she wasn’t having any of the wild conspiracy theories either. Mrs. Hunt also clapped back at those accusing the team of using black magic or getting help from the refs. By God’s grace, we’ve had success, but it’s not “black magic” or referee favoritism (look at the stats on this)—it’s lots of hard work, belief, and purpose. Patrick Mahomes leads with humility and puts God first. Marcellus Casey, our team chaplain, pours into players and their families through weekly Bible studies and prayer,” she wrote in her caption.

Butker’s post might have had Tavia’s support, but it’s not sitting well with many people out there.

Harrison Butker shares a family picture after 32 weeks

The last time Harrison Butker shared a picture with his wife, the comment section bashed the Chiefs placekicker pretty badly. To give you a little context, Georgia Tech invited Butker, their alumni, to be a speaker at the 2023 commencement. His views on women in the workforce were ‘not so acceptable.’  Honestly, it probably would’ve been better if he had kept those thoughts to himself.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Harrison Butker's on-field success overshadow his off-field controversies in the eyes of fans?

Have an interesting take?

The 29-year-old said, “I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.” What he said next was pretty much justified treason for all the backlash he received. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world…I’m on the stage today and able to be the man I am because I have a wife who leans into her vocation…

That’s why it’s said you should never engage in celebrity worship. And you know, people never forget. So, when he posted a picture with his wife and three kids, they were quick to bring up his past comments in a pretty brutal way. “You let her out of the house? So kind,” commented a fan. The Chiefs’ place kicker doesn’t share much about his personal life, except for his opinions. Back in October, he announced that he was a father of three. This post was his first since then, featuring his third child.

And mind you, that wasn’t the only speech he’s faced criticism for. The Chiefs player has found himself in hot water several times for his opinions on other social and political issues.
