…Despite disappointment with the SB defeat, the Chiefs kingdom remains determined to make a fresh start! On February 9, the Eagles demolished the Chiefs in New Orleans. With this, they also crushed Clark Hunt’s dreams of etching history with a first-ever Super Bowl three-peat at the Caesars Superdome. Regardless of the heartbreaking loss, the Hunts all seem legitimately resilient and looking forward to their future opportunities with an optimistic mindset. Amidst hardships, Chiefs’ Chaplain Marcellus Casey offered motivation in one of their emotional posts for the locker room. And even the Chiefs’ CEO’s wife, Tavia Hunt, could not resist reflecting on his sentiments for the team.
Taking to her official Instagram handle, former model Tavia Hunt reiterated the NFL Chaplain’s emotion for the Chiefs’ players by re-posting it on her IG story. “Heartbroken, but so incredibly grateful for this season and this journey’, Hunt’s wife even encouraged the teams while expressing the same emotions for the locker room amidst disappointment.
Originally, Casey took to exhibit his gratitude to God for giving them strength to overcome the discontentedness due to the SB loss. Through the post caption, he explained his proud feelings for the Chiefs players and coaches as they inspired him throughout the season.

“Disappointed? Nope. Proud of our players and coaches? Yep. I watched our guys fight for every game this year. I watched them prepare for games, pursue Jesus, grow as family leaders, excel in their profession, and stay humble. How can you be disappointed when you’re watching people grow?” he added. “How can you be disappointed when year after year you’re in the Super Bowl or close to it? “…when you see guys playing hard till the clock hits zero even when things didn’t go our way?” he continued. “How can you be disappointed when our guys don’t point fingers after a loss but handle things with honor and respect?” he glowed with pride, claiming that he is proud to be part of the Chiefs.
“This is why I love being a part of this no matter what,” he mentioned further. He also emphasized the constant growth of the team despite ordeals and setbacks. “You get to watch people grow – through heartaches, injuries, setbacks, and success. Steady growth,” he jotted down. And, for this, he is grateful to God. “Thank you, Jesus. God’s word tells us to count trials as joy because God uses them to forge our character and our maturity (James 1:2-4),” he also noted down.
Apart from this, the Chiefs’ Chaplain also shed light on the resilience of Clark Hunt’s players who are dealing with adversity and looking for upcoming opportunities. “When I looked around the room after Super Bowl 59, all I saw was a bunch of men handling disappointment with courage. You know what else I saw? A group of people hungry for the next opportunity. God, we thank YOU for every opportunity,” he concluded his post. And, soon after Chief’s owner’s wife witnessed his post, she also expressed her same emotions.
Tavia’s emotions were not visible for the first time. Seven days ago, she also demonstrated her heartbreaking yet grateful feeling through an IG post. Along with sharing glimpses of Super Bowl LIX, she penned down an emotional note. “Heartbroken, but so incredibly grateful.🙏🏼 This season, this journey, and all the joy along the way have been a blessing. Chiefs Kingdom, you are the best fans. We don’t hang our heads—and we take the high road. Adversity makes us stronger, and we will lean in, learn, and grow from it,” Mrs Hunt mentioned.
She expressed her deep gratitude to each person on the team who made this journey even more grateful. She also gave special thanks to the New Orleans people for their kindness and hospitality. And, of course, she did not forget to mention her thankfulness for Jesus.
Tavia Hunt also gave a heartfelt tribute to Patrick Mahomes’ mom, Randi, on her daddy’s tragic demise.
