Clark Hunt has been making headlines since the Chiefs won their third consecutive conference championship. But the flag, unnecessary calls by referees, flopping, and so on have overshadowed the victories of the Chiefs. Moreover, the Chiefs’ haters and non-haters also have dived into the issue of the Chiefs-refs connection. So, Rich Eisen, a famous talk show host, asked the Chiefs’ owner, Clark Hunt, about this, and he answered with a twist.

Rich Eisen asked Hunt about the ‘Zebra Print’ his team carries with the wins on The Rich Eisen Show. Hunt’s reply had a unique twist. He compared his team to the Basketball legend Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. He said, “I think, you know, depending on what stats you want to look at, you could come up with any conclusion. There’s certainly some stats that show us as one of the most penalized teams over the last seven or eight years.”

He continued, “And I think it’s only natural that you start having these kinds of conversations when a team has a lot of success.” He further continued his take connecting the hate and criticism of Michael Jordan and the Bulls’ success. The team dominated the NBA for years, winning 6 NBA titles under Jordan’s leadership. They easily defeated teams in a way fans got irked with all those championships. It’s natural in sports.

Clark Hunt said, “I mentioned the Chicago Bulls already. Just thinking back to that era there were a lot of commentators who made the same comments about the Bulls or Michael Jordan always getting the call. And I really think it was a case of the greatness of Michael Jordan and his teammates, uh, more so than the referees having an impact on those games.”

Well, but Clank Hunt may have missed that Michael Jordan was never accused of flopping. But hold on, what if the NFL’s commissioner himself gives justification for this? Yeah, the commissioner Roger Goodell has given his take on the Chiefs-refs connection. Wanna know what he said? Let’s dive in!

Roger Goodell’s clarification on the theory of Clark Hunt’s Chiefs getting help from refs

Do you know from which game this ‘refs-Chiefs’ connection started? In that specific game, the Texans had several calls, which cost them a season. Though it’s a fact their QB C.J. Stroud was sacked eight times in the game, their defensive players were called more times.

And again in the Bills game also, experts, and fans are saying the pass to Josh Allen was a 4th play in the fourth quarter, and the Bills could have flipped the losing side of the game. Well, the theory (or reality) going around is the NFL referees are helping Clark Hunt’s Chiefs.

So, on this theory, the NFL’s Commissioner Roger Goodell clarified his point. When he was asked about this in Superdome stadium on Monday, Goodell said, “That’s a ridiculous theory, for anyone who might take it seriously. It reflects a lot of the fans’ passion, and I think it also is a reminder for us how important officiating is. And I think the men and women that officiate in the NFL are outstanding.”

The commissioner also added, “Things that go on in their own lives, and we have a very tight control over that. We monitor that very closely in a number of ways.” Well, the story does not end here.
