It’s the wave of change in the Commanders. HC Dan Quinn and QB Jayden Daniels had a dream run last year before losing to the Eagles in the NFC Championship. So, to continue the same performance this year, they were eyeing a new player. Earlier, the Commanders signed their TEs Zach Ertz and John Bates. It helped them maintain the balance in the team. On Monday, March 10, they raised it a notch higher. It’s from the Texans, led by CJ Stroud.
Texans HC DeMeco Ryans also wants some fresh talent on the roster. To make space for the new player, they have traded their offensive tackle, Laremy Tunsil, to the Commanders. It was a well-thought-out trade, including many draft picks from this and other years. Fans questioned if that was required. But the best reaction came from CJ Stroud’s teammate, RB Joe Mixon, who commented, “Hell nah 😔.” Yeah! He’ll certainly miss him.
Tunsil’s strong pass blocking allowed Mixon to thrive as a runner and receiver. Their combined efforts contributed significantly to the Texans’ offensive success.

In the trade, the Commanders have also received a 4th round pick in the 2025 draft. But CJ Stroud and co. might benefit more. They got a 3rd and 7th round pick in 2025 and the 2nd and 4th round pick in 2026. So, they have a good chance of benefitting more. But Laremy Tunsil has emerged as a good offensive player.
2025 is the final year of OT’s 3-year $75 million deal. He played 3 seasons for the Dolphins (2016-2018), arriving at the Texans in 2019. But he got a Pro Bowl selection in each of those seasons but 2021. That’s a tremendous accomplishment! He will be a key protector for Jayden Daniels.
In the team, he will be up there with 49ers WR Deebo Samuel on the list of new players. But Jayden Daniels is happy with all the changes they have done. Be it trade in or trade out.
What’s your perspective on:
Will Laremy Tunsil's move to the Commanders be the game-changer they need for a championship run?

Jayden Daniels welcomes CJ Stroud’s ex-teammate
Even though the QB is only 24 years old, he has grown massively in just a year. Once the news of OT’s arrival came to the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, he had to share his emotions. And as the leader of the players, Daniels welcomed the Texans OT and wrote, “Welcome to the squad!!! @kingtunsil.” It shows that he is also happy with CJ Stroud’s teammate coming into the NFC.

Amid all this drama, there’s another player who is unhappy with the development. It’s the Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons. The NFC East has the Super Bowl winners, the Eagles. The Commanders are also beefing up their roster with talented players. That will make the chances of winning a trophy hard for America’s team.
He also tweeted after hearing the news, “WTF.” With all the great players that they have re-signed or brought in, the fans are excited. They believe that what the HC-QB duo missed out on last year, this year can be the turning point.
