While Russell Wilson‘s calf is causing headaches in Pittsburgh, his wife Ciara is turning heads in the beauty world. Talk about a power couple making waves on both coasts!
Ciara today stepped out at BBR’s “An Acceleration of Black Beauty” event, looking like a million bucks in a chic grey ensemble. But it wasn’t just her outfit that caught everyone’s attention. The Grammy-winning artist took to Instagram to share her excitement about her latest venture: “It’s truly an honor BBR! I’m On A Mission as a Black founder of my skincare company and the partnerships I participate in to make the Beauty Industry representative of the Beauty that surrounds us all.”
This isn’t just another celebrity slapping their name on a product. Ciara’s diving headfirst into a skincare market that’s worth a cool $167 billion in 2024. That’s a billion with a ‘B’, folks! And it’s not stopping there. According to recent statistics by Allied Market Research, this behemoth of an industry is projected to reach a jaw-dropping $273.3 billion by 2031. Looks like Ciara’s got her finger on the pulse of a booming business.

Her brand, OAM Skin (which stands for “On A Mission”), isn’t just about looking good. It’s about feeling good and representing all skin tones. As Ciara puts it in 2022 when she launched it, “I made this for women of all skin tones and skin types on a mission to be their best, to level up, to have the confidence to go after the things they deserve, to be the women they were destined to be.” Now that’s what we call putting your money where your mouth is!
The OAM line is no joke. We’re talking about a Vitamin C Hydrating Cleanser, Brightening Pads, a 20% Vitamin C Brightening Serum, an Eye Revitalizer, and a Radiance Moisturizer. All dermatologist-tested and packed with a Tri-C Pro-Peptide Complex. It’s clear Ciara’s not just dipping her toes in the beauty waters; she’s making a splash!
Russell Wilson’s calf woes open the door for Fields
Meanwhile, as Ciara’s conquering the beauty world, her hubby Russell Wilson is facing a different kind of challenge. The nine-time Pro Bowler might be warming the bench for the Steelers’ season opener against the Falcons.

Wilson’s been nursing a calf injury since training camp, and it looks like it’s still giving him trouble. According to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, Wilson plans to test his calf during pregame warmups. It’s like a high-stakes game of “Will He or Won’t He?” that’s keeping Steelers fans on the edge of their seats.
So here is where it starts to get fascinating. If Wilson is unable to play, the Steelers have an ace in their pocket: Justin Fields. Yeah, that Justin Fields. The QB2 with a world-class sprint/rocket throwing arm.
The team knows this and so does Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. He has already suggested there will be a “Justin Fields package” even if Wilson starts. As he said on “The Rich Eisen Show” back in August, “My friend (Falcons coach) Raheem Morris better be ready for a Justin Fields package. There’s too much talent to be sitting around watching.”

Fields could be the X-factor for the Steelers. He ran for more than 1,000 yards in a season again in 2022 as he became the third quarterback to reach that plateau. A stat that would cause defensive coordinators to lose sleep at night.
So, while Ciara’s making moves in the beauty industry, the Steelers might be on the verge of a beauty of their own making on the football field. Now, whether it’s Wilson or Fields under center come Sunday, we would have to wait. By now we know the Wilsons are the kind of family that just loves to keep us on our toes!
