Ciara Shares Tearful Moments Amidst 20th Anniversary as Russell Wilson Joins “Icon” Wife in June 8 Celebrations: “I Got Drafted”

Russell Wilson’s wife, Ciara, has cherished the iconic moment of one of her successful debut singles. As the “Goodies” song completed its 20 anniversary on June 8, 2024, with favorable results, the Pittsburgh Steelers QB’s wife could not contain her emotions from sharing the special moments with her followers as the 8th June marks the double celebration for the Wilson couple.

Moreover, the Grammy award-winning singer went on to express her feelings, remembering the epic moment of her debut song release. She penned further, “I will never forget this day. I released my single ‘Goodies’. I had tears in my eyes as I was rolling through the drive-through. My dream was really coming true.”

Soon after the three-time MTV Video Music Awards-winning singer shared her heartwarming moments on Instagram, her NFL husband could not resist adoring the talent of his singer-wife. Taking to the comment box, Russell Wilson voiced his emotions through a comment: “ICON! Love you so much, Baby! 20 years later and you still look like you’re 20 #GOODIES.” The Super Bowl champion hubby’s comment displayed the strong bond between the Wilson couple.

Ciara also shared a throwback short clip, along with the “Goodies” song poster featuring herself in an overall pink getup with a cross pendant chain. In the video, she could be seen sitting in the makeup room as she was waiting for her hairstyle to be done.

The ‘How We Roll; singer, also revealed more about her successful debut single “Goodies” and its significance. “I didn’t think I would answer any questions, whether it was time or telephone—that is my lyrics. Do you know what good can be? Is there anything that you can do that can be worth something to you? A good value to you? It can be a hug, a kiss, or your telephone number. I always tell people I feel like anything that I give to anybody, whether it’s time, cell phone number, or money,” the ‘1, 2 Step’ singer remarked.

American singer Ciara’s “Goodies” song also featured the hip-hop rapper and record producer Petey Pablo, known for his 2003 crunk single “Freek-a-Leek.” Ciara received admiration across the world, touching many hearts with her breathtaking voice. Ciara’s “Goodies” album was a major commercial success, reaching the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks. It became the longest-running number-one debut song by a female artist on the chart since 1977. It was the biggest accomplishment of the Steelers QB’s wife.

However, 8th June has special significance for both the husband and wife. Not only, Ciara’s ‘Goodies’ song was released on this date, but her NFL QB husband also was drafted by the Colorado Rockies as their 4th-round pick in the 2010 MLB Draft. Hence, 8th June marks the double-anniversary celebration for the NFL power couple, cherishing the special moments on their social media.

Amidst the “Goodies” 20 anniversary celebrations, the Wilson couple also took to celebrate the 14th anniversary of the MLB draft selection, displaying their love for each other. Taking to her, IG handle, Ciara, shared the short clip, featuring her husband in the video, she also recorded the video with the greatest revelation. “So guys, this is crazy. The first single of my career, Goodies, came out on this date, on June 8th, and,” she could be seen saying in the IG story.

This was soon accompanied by Russell Wilson, who added, “I got drafted June 8th.” And then  Ciara replied, “That’s crazy” with an astonished expression.  Steelers QBs went on to complete his statement, stating “14 years ago in Baseball” Again the singer posted the amusing expressions with the words,” “That’s bananas”, laughing out loud at the end.

Her post caption read, “Crazy !! Our dream came true on the same day! June 8th! I love you, baby!”, tagging her hubby’s official Instagram account. Pro Bowler also shared his wife’s post with the caption, “Look at GOD. June 8th is a good day for Momma Ciara and me,” tagging MLB and Billboard. Apart from this, the NFL star QB hilariously reveals the presence of his stepson in the recent captures, mentioning, “Future in the background” with laughing teary eyes emojis.

However, this is not the first time the NFL couple has showcased love and support for each other. Many times before, they both came into the spotlight for their unique chemistry. A few days back, when the US singer felt disappointed because of her Las Vegas Show Amid the ‘Out of This World’ Tour’ cancellation due to harsh weather, it was her NFL star QB who supported her. Russell’s supportive side caught the attention of many, as he motivated his better half in adverse situations.
