What’s more remarkable for a receiver than making incredible catches? Well, most WRs can do it since they play that position. However, no one can do a more stylish one-handed catch than Ja’Marr Chase. The Bengals player has always surprised everyone with his catches. And on top of that, we’ve seen him get the upper hand countless times for his team. Looks like Christian Gonzalez has noticed his moves, quickness, and playing style. And with his newest statement about Chase, the CB may have dropped a significant hint for his team management. So, what exactly did he say?

Well, the 22-year-old appeared on the Frat Rules Podcast, where he discussed Ja’Marr Chase. Not only did the CB praise the WR and his techniques, but he also described him as the “best football player.” A bold claim, eh? While explaining why he believes in Ja’Marr, Gonzalez just referred to Chase’s extra work in the field. And he’s doing more than what is asked of a WR.

Per Gonzalez, Chase is more like an RB. The reason? Chase’s versatility on the field: “He not out there just like running routes. They don’t line him up at the X and say, ‘Oh run a dig route.’ I mean, they do occasionally. But what he does, they move him around. They give him screens, they put him in the backfield like CeeDee Lamb. They use him a lot cause he is good with the ball in his hands, so they just wanna get him the ball and let him go to work. I mean, Ja’Marr Chase is big too. Ja’Marr Chase is like a running back.”

Well, these remarks prove that the wide receiver has earned a kind of respect in the NFL. But you know what? Well, Christian Gonzalez is not the only one who thinks this way. Drake Maye, the Patriots‘ quarterback, has also expressed appreciation for Chase. On the Up And Adams Show, he was asked which player he wanted on his team. And Maye had a clear-cut list, and Ja’Marr Chase was at the top of it. Chase has become a superstar in just four years, racking up 395 receptions for 5,425 yards. Truly incredible.

But why are the Patriots players suddenly showing so much appreciation for Chase? Is it possible that they want him on their roster? Hmm, something does feel fishy. But nobody knows, and anything is possible given the Bengals’ current situation about their offensive line. But, despite the consistent issues with decision-making in Cincinnati, can the Patriots sign Chase?

Can Christian Gonzalez and the Patriots affect the Bengals’ trade with the Commanders for Tee Higgins?

Most probably, it can happen. New England did not have a great season in 2024, and one reason for that was their offense. The team lacked solid players, which rendered its offense ineffective in several areas. So their major goal would be to repair the offense, which would include finding a new wide receiver. But is there any chance for them to get Chase? I mean, aren’t the Bengals already in talks for Tee Higgins? So, why would they want to give up another good receiver?

This is actually the only major issue the Patriots may encounter if they try to get Ja’Marr Chase on their roster. The Bengals and Commanders are discussing Higgins’ potential trade. The reason for this trade is really simple: Cincinnati wants to free up some room in their cap amount even though the team has the money to resign all of their receivers. There is the possibility that they will release their entire offense in order to start a fresh one.

Reporter Marcus Mosher reported the change in offense with his latest reports: “Giving up assets to pay a player right away usually isn’t good business, but the Commanders can’t afford to wait. Their Super Bowl window is right now with Jayden Daniels on a rookie contract. This isn’t an ideal situation for the Bengals, but at least it gives them another pick inside the top 64 that they could use to rebuild the offensive line or the defense.”

So, what are your thoughts? Should the Bengals lose up on their current receiver and offensive team? Or should they try them again for another season? Tell us in the comments and stay tuned for future updates.
