The Las Vegas Raiders are currently on a 6-game losing streak against the Kansas City Chiefs. In their last matchup this season, the Chiefs beat the Raiders 17-31. But since then, the Raiders have undergone a thorough shake-up. They fired their head coach, Josh McDaniels, and general manager, Dave Ziegler. Since interim head coach Antonio Pierce took over, they have maintained a 0.500 record under him.
In the upcoming high-stakes game, it seems that no team has been spared from injuries ahead of the Christmas Day showdown. What remains to be seen is how much it will affect the team’s performance.

In heartbreaking news for Chiefs fans, the team revealed that major offensive weapons such as running back Jerick McKinnon, wide receiver Kadarius Toney, and offensive tackle Donovan Smith have been ruled out for the Raiders game. The three are battling groin, hip, and neck injuries, respectively.
This will come as a setback for Toney, who was looking to redeem himself after he messed up in the last two games. In the Buffalo Bills game, one of his feet was on the line of scrimmage, which led to an offside call and negated the touchdown he had scored. It resulted in the Bills winning the game, and the Chiefs recorded their second straight loss. Then, in the New England Patriots game, he missed a crucial pass that could have led to a touchdown.
The absence of Donovon Smith means that there will be one less seasoned player to defend Patrick Mahomes against the onslaught of the Raiders’ defensive players. Raiders, on the other hand, are dealing with injuries of their own.

Las Vegas did get a few offensive starters back to their roster for the Chiefs game, but they will be out on a big one. Tight end, Michael Mayer will watch from the sidelines due to a toe injury. He has gone for 304 receiving yards on 27 receptions and has scored two touchdowns so far. However, he will only return for the Raiders’ final game on January 7.
But it’s not all gloom and doom for them yet. Center, Andre James, and RB, Josh Jacobs, will most likely return for the Chiefs game, which will be a huge relief for the Raiders’ offense. DB Brandon Facyson, OT Kolton Miller, WR DJ Turner, and CB Jack Jones have been relegated to “Questionable” status.
