It’s time to get the popcorn and the jerseys out for Chiefs fans. The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off of a bye week after defeating the Miami Dolphins in Germany. They are currently 7-2 and are up against the 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles might have a better score so far this season, but they also lost 35-38 to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. And yet, the Chiefs vs. Eagles rivalry is a close one. In the 10 games that they have played so far, the Chiefs have won 6, while the Eagles have won 4. But Head Coach Andy Reid has a special trick up his sleeve.

Add to the fact that the Eagles HC was fired from the Chiefs by Andy Reid, and you have the recipe for a nail-biting game on November 20. Sirianni definitely has a chip on his shoulder, and after losing to Reid in the last Super Bowl, he is out for blood.

Reid is widely acclaimed as the master of bye-week preparation. Why? In the 24 years in the NFL that he has been HC, he has a 27-4  record after a bye. That’s a whopping 87.1% winning percentage. Arrowhead Pride revealed his secret sauce. “That’s the trick to it,” said Reid, “it’s the balance: how the players utilize their free time — and coaches, for that matter. We’ve got to make sure that we keep on top of the scheme stuff, too. “

NBC Sports commentator Mike Tirico also praised Reid, saying, “Andy’s always dangerous off a bye because they’ll come up with stuff that you haven’t seen before and you spend the whole week looking at the stuff they do and preparing for that.” To be sure, Reid is not a hard taskmaster. He truly wants the players to take time off and understands the advantages of having well-rested players. But his mind gears are always running, devising play calls for the next game.

And two Chiefs players are utilizing Reid’s leniency during the bye week to the fullest before they take on Jalen Hurts and Co on November 20.

Best chums on and off the field are maximizing their bye-week time-off

On Thursday, 2x Super Bowl MVP winner, Patrick Mahomes, was at Kansas City, participating in an event. What was the event? It was organized by his foundation “15 and the Mahomies” and he and Brittany Mahomes distributed over $600,000 to various charitable organisations. Mama Mahomes was also at the event where she got to have dinner with her entire family amid the grueling NFL schedule. Chiefs TE Travis Kelce was also present at the event. Speaking of Kelce, he has had a busy week.

Soon after the Thursday event, organized by his best chum’s foundation, he flew down to Argentina. His beau Taylor Swift was about to perform the second concert of the international leg of her Eras Tour. Kelce grabbed dinner with her at a local restaurant, met Papa Swift and also engaged in an off-stage romance with his love interest.

On November 20, he will be up against his brother Jason Kelce. And since the game will be at Arrowhead, there is a chance Taylor will be there as well, as she has never missed an Arrowhead game since their link-up on September 24. Will Taylor’s luck and Reid’s record help the Chiefs triumph once again over the Eagles?
