When the Kansas City Chiefs traveled to Germany for their international match-up against the Miami Dolphins, they never imagined there would be an unexpected opponent waiting for them in the scenic city of Frankfurt. Coming from a shocking loss against the Denver Broncos, they were more concerned about Tua Tagovailoa-Tyreek Hill‘s robust offense.
But again, Frankfurt’s weather is like a reiteration of the previous hurdle faced by the Chiefs amid heavy snowfall before the battle that led the Broncos to a 24-9 victory. As for this game, The UK Met Office has predicted the disappointing forecast for the city on Sunday afternoon.

According to the UK agency, the Chiefs’ Deutschland welcome could be interrupted by a chilly, windy, and wet afternoon in Frankfurt. That is every possible bad weather condition together except for the snow. It’s not what the Chiefs or the Dolphins wanted to face. The last time there were precipitations in an NFL game, the Chiefs lost it miserably with a single digit on the scoreboard. And that was not more than a week ago. Looks like the weather isn’t in the favor of the Chiefs much nowadays, and Germany is no different.
The stadium itself, despite its best efforts wouldn’t be able to save the game either. Although it is mostly enclosed and has a retractable roof, the necessary openings are enough to let outside’s 30mph wind get inside and make life tough for the fans and the players. A retractable roof can, in fact, have its problems in certain scenarios when the speedy wind sneaks inside and forms a cold tornado being unable to escape. That makes it a completely unplayable condition.

The forecast is updated as of 4:30 AM, ET, November 5. But there are some positive sides to this trip as well, which the bad weather can’t ruin.

Germany is the land of football, the sport played with spherical balls using feet. But that isn’t stopping the country from burning in NFL fever. The excitement has reached so high that the German fans have gifted the Chiefs’ reporters with their national football team jerseys, sharing a brotherly love between two namesake sports.
The Chiefs have left no arrangements behind as well and they have prepared their battleship for the exclusive experiences of the fans which sails on the Bank of Main River. The day overall will be a lifetime experience for NFL fans in Germany, and Patrick Mahomes himself is paving the way for a potential NFL fandom based in Europe.
Everyone will be just hoping that rain doesn’t make a cameo appearance and dismiss the battle altogether. It goes without saying that the game will open new doors of opportunities for the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs.
