For the Chiefs, the regular season has yielded the perfect results. With number 1 rank in the AFC and seed number 1, they are happy. So, fans are expecting Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and co. to rest. The HC Andy Reid has indicated that he would play Carson Wentz as the starting quarterback against Broncos. DeAndre Hopkins would be seeking support from his QB to achieve financial gains.

The receiver’s contract has a performance bonus, totaling up to $1 million. If he scores 1 touchdown, he would earn $500k (6 TDs). For two more bonuses of $250k each, he needs 6 receptions (65 total receptions) and 140 receiving yards (750 total yards). It wouldn’t be easy. However, he can do that.

Carson Wentz would be eager to help him achieve these targets. But it’s an enormous responsibility on his shoulders. In 2024, he started no game till week 17. So propelling Hopkins to score 1 touchdown with 6 receptions and 140 receiving yards would be daunting. But the HC Andy Reid would be making plans with his locker room.

He is ready for the Broncos game. And set clear expectations for his players like DeAndre Hopkins, who have individual numbers to achieve. While talking about bonus, he said, “We want the guys to be able to reach them if they’re reachable.” But he also put the onus on Wentz to help his teammate.

While the Chiefs are happy, a news has broken out that might depress Chiefdom members. The playoffs are around the corner. If it gets confirmed, the season would get a lot crazier.
