Tavia Hunt's tearful goodbye to Ava—how do you balance family and career in such moments?

With the Kansas City Chiefs going for an unprecedented 3-peat this season, the Hunt Family remains excited for the latest chapter in the club history. But it might not be the only new story that could be written in Hunt’s legacy as the Chiefs heiress is all poised to start her new chapter with Southern Methodist University’s cheer team. Daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt and former beauty queen Tavia Hunt, Ava, recently completed high school at a Christian private school named Covenant in Dallas.

Continuing her excellence as a cheer captain in school, Ava joined the cheerleader team at her dad’s alma mater. Although she had signed up with SMU a few months back, when it came to leaving her family for college, Tavia was visibly emotional. As she took to her Instagram to pen an emotional message, “Today, I left a piece of my heart at SMU. Ava Hunt, you’ve always been a mix of sunshine and hurricane-fierce, fearless, and capable of incredible things.”

Even though her mom wishes her daughter all the success in the world, Tavia can’t hold her emotions, “I’m overflowing with excitement for you, even as I tuck away my tears for later.” Being the youngest one in the Hunt household, Ava was the heartbeat of her family, “I’m wading through emotions as I pass by your now too-clean room, the house is too quiet without your laughter.” But for Ava and her family, this would be the proudest moment in their life as she continues the Hunt legacy by attending SMU.

Ava has a long lineage of people in her family who used to be associated with SMU. Her grandparents, Norma and Lamar Hunt, were the founders of the Chiefs who had a huge role to play in the development of athletics at SMU. The Hunt family had an active investment in the construction of the Gerald J. Ford Stadium and Paul B. Loyd Jr All-Sports Center. Meanwhile, her dad and older sister are both alumni of SMU. Even Knobel Hunt is pursuing his finance major at SMU while being an active participant in the soccer team.

Hunt family’s youngest daughter also possesses some similarities to her mother and older sibling. Having seen Tavia and Gracie win Miss Kansas while getting the chance to compete in the Miss USA pageant. Ava is walking on the same path as she took home the Miss PreTeen Texas International in 2018. After winning the beauty accolade, she went to social media to express her feelings, “Dreams do come true! I can’t believe I’m going to bed as Miss PreTeen Texas Intl! I’m so thankful and excited!”

Well, not everything was smooth sailing for the Chiefs owner’s youngest daughter as she came across a recent tragedy that could have changed her life.

Her Instagram story was captioned, “Update: surgery went very smoothly, and I’m back at home watching my favorite @simonebiles!! I’m feeling great (But I might still be a little drugged up). Thank you for all of your sweet messages and prayers!!”

With news of her accident hitting online, fans were quick to share their support for Ava as one of them wrote, “I hope our princess Ava hunt gets well soon.” While others added, “Definitely praying, Ava is one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met.” Some Chiefs supporters were also present in the comments, “Truly a treasure to us here in Chiefs kingdom!!”
