Of all the teams whose players and owners try to help the community, Kansas City Chiefs are certainly one of the well-known ones. The franchise has been making a fortune because of their talents on the gridiron. Back-to-back Super Bowls aren’t a simple task. Even in the current season, Patrick Mahomes has kept the team undefeated.
The owners also don’t shy away from expressing their opinions. This time, it’s about women’s sports.

Clark Hunt’s model wife, Tavia Hunt, is a regular at the Arrowhead Stadium. And she promotes all the philanthropic activities that her team and players do. Recently, she shared an IG story with the caption ‘Save Woman Sports‘ and a famous video about arguably the best female tennis player, Serena Williams.
The Chiefs owner’s wife shared the video of former tennis player John McEnroe talking about Williams. He famously remarked that while she was the best women’s tennis player, she was not a match for the male tennis players and even the 700th-ranked player would beat her.
While Williams expressed dislike for those comments, McEnroe refused to apologize for his statement. It became a hot topic for discussion then. While Tavia Hunt is now advocating to protect women’s sports, her quarterback Patrick Mahomes is taking strides in providing financial support for such sports.
Chiefs QB and his wife, Brittany, have a major stake in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) franchise KC Current.

In January 2023, the MVP joined his wife at the owner board of KC Current, valued at $182 million. Whenever he gets time, he visits the soccer games, cheering for the team. It happened in August 2024 when the couple took Travis Kelce alongside them during the Women’s Cup matchup. And it has worked wonders for the women’s team. They recently won the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup.

Over time, Patrick Mahomes has become a vocal supporter for women’s supporters. In May early this year, he was invited to TIME100 Gala where he raised a toast to the growth and massive opportunities in the women’s sports. While talking about the courage of women sports persons, he said, “The talent, the narratives, the personalities. Women’s sports has it all. And I think people are finally starting to figure that out. I’m proud of the part my family has played in this movement.”
The Grim Reaper has been doing everything he can in his power to help his team. In April this year, he and his wife kicked off KC Current’s new season in a brand new stadium that has been made as per women pro sports design. He has been the torchbearer for improvement in women’s sports. One day, it would definitely pay off.
