In a showdown reminiscent of Super Bowl LVII, the Kansas City Chiefs found themselves on the wrong end of the scorecard against the Philadelphia Eagles. The game was marred by costly penalties and crucial drops from the usually reliable receiving corps. Despite this stumble, the Chiefs maintain an impressive 7-3 record, securing a two-game lead in the competitive AFC West.
The setback hasn’t dampened their spirits, as the Chiefs are still well-positioned for a coveted home-field advantage as the regular season unfolds. Looking ahead to their upcoming clash on November 26, the Chiefs are gearing up to face off against the Las Vegas Raiders. The stakes are high, and a victory in this crucial matchup is imperative to solidify their path to the Super Bowl. A loss would tip the scales unfavorably, leaving them with a less desirable 7-4 record.

Currently holding a 5-6 record, the Raiders find themselves embroiled in a competitive race for the final two playoff spots following a challenging 20-13 loss to Miami last week. Despite rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell’s career-best performance, marked by three interceptions, the team remains focused on its postseason aspirations. So there’s still room for improvement available in the team.
On the other hand, as the Kansas City Chiefs gear up for their upcoming clash against the Las Vegas Raiders, they face the absence of key players with wide receiver Mecole Hardman ruled out due to a thumb injury and running back Jerick McKinnon sidelined with a groin issue. On the Raiders’ side, the availability of their standout defensive player, Maxx Crosby, is in doubt as he deals with a knee concern. This situation presents a potential advantage for the Chiefs.

So, if they play their cards right, they’d easily be securing a comfortable position in the league. However, there are places where the team needs drastic improvement. Otherwise, it’d pose a problem for them against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The areas of improvement for the Chiefs
Struggling in the second half of their recent games, the Kansas City Chiefs have faced a scoring drought, being outscored 38-0 by opponents like the Broncos, Dolphins, and Eagles, resulting in two losses. Across a span of three games, the Chiefs have encountered a challenging offensive performance with a cumulative total of 13 possessions (excluding abbreviated drives).
Unfortunately, the outcome has been less than ideal, with eight possessions concluding in punts, two in downs, two in fumbles (excluding Mecole Hardman’s muffed punt at Denver), and one in an interception. The head coach Andy Reid acknowledges the issue that the team is not scoring in the second half. He said, “This second half thing, we’ve got to take care of it and figure it out. We have to make sure we fix that, coaches and players.”
