Ball like you have to win a championship game. That’s the motto for both the Chiefs and Bills heading into Sunday’s AFC Championship game. Aren’t you all getting those goosebumps just thinking about it? After a crazy, crazy season, we’re finally here—the conference championships. The Chiefs, chasing a rare three-peat, are on the verge of further cementing their dynasty in NFL history. The Bills, hungry for their first-ever Super Bowl title, are leaving no stone unturned to make it happen. Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen –oh, the rivalry between these two! You can feel the tension in the air. As both teams prepare for this massive showdown, they’re making sure their best players are ready to hit the gridiron on Sunday.

For Sunday’s game, Kansas City has made a surprising move. The defending champions have added Justyn Ross to the active squad. Since being drafted by the Chiefs in 2022, he has been part of two Super Bowl wins but hasn’t been a key contributor. The Clemson alum only has 6 career catches for 53 yards, none of which have come this season. With his legal troubles over domestic battery charges, fans are not entirely convinced about having him on the active roster. It’s not certain whether Coach Reid will send him onto the gridiron. The Bills, on the other hand, have made a bold move with Will Clapp. The former Chargers and Saints legend is ready to roll with Buffalo in his first-ever conference championship with the team. Moving him to the active roster adds some much-needed depth to Buffalo’s O-line.

But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for Josh Allen‘s team, there’s a dark cloud hanging over their preparations. The QB might have to step on the field without a few of his teammates. Injuries, the ever-present spoiler in football, are messing with Buffalo’s game plan.

Some of Josh Allen’s teammates are in a jam

While the Chiefs Kingdom can breathe easy (not a single player on their IR list this week), it’s a nervous time for the Bills mafia. The 2021 Super Bowl champion with the Rams, safety Taylor Rapp, has to sit out after suffering a hip injury last week against the Ravens. How much his absence will affect the Bills, we’ll have to wait and see. In Rapp’s place, rookie Cole Bishop will likely be stepping onto the gridiron. Will he be able to hold his nerves in a crunch game against a team as strong as the Chiefs?

That’s not the end of the bad news for Buffalo. Cornerback Christian Benford, who suffered a concussion against the Ravens last week, is listed as questionable. Offering a glimmer of hope is LB Baylon Spector, who’s been struggling with a calf injury. Baylon was a full participant in practice this week, but he’s still questionable for Sunday’s game.
