Things just keep escalating between Aaron Rodgers and Jimmy Kimmel. However, during this back and forth, Mike Foss, the VP of production at ESPN, took a hit from Aaron Rodgers, and since then, it has spread like wildfire. While ESPN sides with Jimmy Kimmel on the situation, Pat McAfee stayed true to the trade and issued a lengthy statement on X (formerly Twitter). We might not see Aaron Rodgers frequently, but it’s safe to say that the show must go on.
McAfee’s post on X is doing numbers right now and is currently sitting at 1.2 million views. His tweet clarifies what his show is about, how he got to where he is now, and how he is doing all he can to avoid lawsuits and staying true to the essence of his show at the same time.

We are not sure about the changes in dynamics between Rodgers and ESPN; however, Pat McAfee chose to keep things as they were. In his tweet, he pointed out that as the season is ending, the viewers might see less of the Jets’ QB and said that Rodgers will make surprising “pop-ins” now and then and hopes that the 4x MVP keeps in touch with the show.
A lot of you are talking very wild about me and our progrum.. I assume you are very new to us.
We are a sports show that tries to inform folks of what’s going on and have a good time with good vibes… Everyday.

“Our fans know that ART ends shortly after Aaron’s team’s season ends.. that’s how it’s been. He’ll make random surprise welcomed pop ins during big events or offseason adventures but, it’s always been a season thing. I never said he’ll never be on the show again. I hope he chooses to still chat with us. We’ve been lucky the last 4 years to ride the wave of a season with a 4X NFL MVP (2 of which during The ART Era) and get his thoughts along the way.. in real time,” said MacAfee in his tweet.
Amidst much controversy, it is indicated that Rodgers would still be a part of the show as he has a paid collaboration with Pat McAfee. But what’s the future of the show?
What now for Mike Foss and the Pat McAfee Show?
While McAfee is sure that he might see Rodgers on his show now and then, the QB and ESPN might have a rift after Rodgers took shots at Mike Foss. The whole thing is coming down to Disney losing money. Jimmy Kimmel makes a lot of money for Disney, and so does ESPN. According to sources, ESPN hopes the drama will resolve itself internally within the Pat McAfee Show.
“The show will continue to evolve. It wouldn’t surprise me if Aaron’s role evolves with it,” said Mike Foss to the front office, implying that Rodgers would still be in the picture.

After Mike Foss’s comments about Rodgers making a “dumb and factually inaccurate joke,” the QB didn’t stay behind when replying to ESPN’s VP, saying, “I don’t work for you, Mike.”
