Chase Young is known for two things. His dreadlocks and his overpowering defensive abilities. The youngster has attained tremendous success in his short career, where he has suffered from injuries too. But what keeps him motivated is the background and the upbringing that his parents provided him with.
As the San Francisco 49ers prepare themselves to take on the mighty Kansas City Chiefs. DE Young will play an important role, even if it means coming off the bench. His inclusion has made the 49ers a better unit. And he has his parents to thank for giving him the mindset to make the most of these opportunities.
Chase Young has a solid foundation

Born on April 14, 1999, Chase was the first child of Greg and Carla Young. They had a daughter, Weslie, a few years later. Their daughter has excelled in basketball at the college level. But their son has been outperforming for a long time.

Greg Young himself was a collegiate basketball player. But after graduating, he switched the hoops to cuffs. As he joined the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office. Retiring recently at the post of Deputy Sheriff.
His dad and other family members, who are a part of law enforcement, inspired Chase. He went on to study criminology at Ohio State University, wanting to join his father. While his mother works for the Office of Investigations for the United States Department of Transportation. She has been an avid supporter of her son and can often be seen at the games, too. And she, along with other law enforcing members of their family, will be cheering for a Super Bowl win for Chase. But will he be able to play?
Young’s journey to the Super Bowl
The Washington team drafted Chase in Round 1 as their second pick at the NFL Draft 2020. And the youngster exploded on the scene with a phenomenal rookie season. However, fate had something else in store for him.

Suffering from an ACL tear in his second season, he has remained side-lined since then. And in November, the 49ers scooped him up to bolster their defensive strength. His performances, though, haven’t been top-notch. And there are rumors that he might not even end up getting off the bench in this big game.
