The 6 ft 3 inch, 265 pound Chase Winovich has once called himself a “beast” who followed and face-timed the star professional boxer Conor McGregor. At the University of Michigan, in his sophomore year, Winovich, often hailed as the “relentless” player, made an impact in 2016 with a record of five sacks. In his Wolverine career, he recorded 43 tackles in total for a loss and 18-5 sacks. Later, despite the Pittsburgh Steelers spending little time extra with Winovich in their pro day dinner, the linebacker was drafted to the third round pick of the Patriots in 2019. The NFL saw his strong rookie season with 5.5 sacks.

However, in 2021, he couldn’t record any sacks and spent most of his season playing with the special teams, also missing a part of the year with a hamstring injury. Later, due to this injury settlement, Winovich was released from the Patriots to the Cleveland Browns in 2022. There he appeared in eight games, recording one sack, and later missing two months again due to an injury. This offseason he signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans but was named off their 53-man roster list. Two days later he was signed by the Miami Dolphins, and played only three games with the team, before being released one week ago. And now after his 50 days with the Dolphins, he has hung up his boots in his football career.
