With the offseason in full bloom, the Super Bowl winner elected to go for surgery. However, apart from his inner circle, it seems nobody was aware of this fact. Only after Ward posted a picture on his Instagram story did the people get to know about the injury.

“Surgery was a breeze”, wrote the Pro Bowler. However, this post has raised several other questions and answered very few. The primary one is the cause of surgery and also the timing of this injury.

The former Chiefs player did not specify any other details, neither did the 49ers camp. But, one doctor has prepared his diagnosis of what could be the cause of this injury. And according to him, Ward was possibly injured before the Super Bowl game.

“Charvarius Ward was possibly playing through a significant core muscle injury or sports hernia”, he wrote on X. According to Meuller, Ward played through a groin injury in the later part of the season and/or during the postseason. If such was the case, not only Ward was not 100% during the Super Bowl, but could have been suffering from pain as well.
