Jim Harbaugh is back with his motivational quotes! His Los Angeles Chargers are looking to bounce back from a loss to the Steelers. However, they still have 2 wins so far this regular season. They obviously want to win the next game, not just to add to their victories, but also to defeat their upcoming opponent, which is – the reigning Super Bowl champion.
The Kansas City Chiefs are going to play their next away game with the Chargers on Sunday, September 29. Ahead of the game, LA coach Jim Harbaugh appeared in a press conference to talk about how he and his team are eyeing the next battle against Patrick Mahomes and his squad. Well, to answer this, what could be better than channeling your friend’s quotes?
Harbaugh did the same this time. The 60-year-old HC expressed, “As my good friend Ric Flair would say, if you want to be the best you gotta beat the best. So, that’s the opportunity it is. So, we understand it and are ready to go.” There’s no doubt that the Chiefs, with three wins this season so far, are arguably one of the best teams in the league at present. It will be challenging for coach Jim Harbaugh to face them for the first time and win.

His friend Flair, who he met in 1989, also said, “Beating the best” is the only way to prove you are the best. And Harbaugh is now all set for it! The Chiefs vs Chargers game is scheduled to kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California. With Jim Harbaugh’s statements, it’s clear that they are ready to face Patrick Mahomes & company.
Patrick Mahomes & team will seek for 6th win over Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers!
Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs have been a dominant force in the NFL, with a track record that puts them among the league’s elite. However, for divisional rivalry, the Chargers has been a struggle for them, especially in recent years. Hence, as they are meeting again on Sunday, KC is looking for their sixth consecutive win over LA. In addition to that, the anticipation is also high because this game will be the first time new Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh will face the Chiefs. And, as Harbaugh knows, it won’t be an easy task.

Talking about the same in a recent presser, Harbaugh admitted the challenges well, especially going up against Mahomes. He expressed, “Really good run game, really good throwing game, explosive offense. I think everybody understands the challenge of playing a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes in every way. His ability to move the [football] with his legs, with his arm, within the offense is elite.”

However, on the other side, the Chargers’ defense is arguably among the best in the league. They’re also ranked in the top 10 in key categories like scoring defense (11 points per game), total yards allowed (267), and both run and pass defense (91.7 per game & 175.3 per game, respectively). Well, according to ex-Raiders defensive star Akbar Gbajabiamila, “There’s one team that can punch them [Chiefs] in the mouth and stop them from three-peating,” is Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers.
And coach Andy Reid too knows this well; hence, while speaking to the media, he expressed, “You’ve got to be ready for a complete game. Their defenses are going to give you a variety of looks. One of the top defenses in the NFL right now.” So, it remains to be seen who wins this highly-anticipated game!
