When it looked like the Cowboys were tanking and heading for an early exit this season. They have sprung up two wins on a bounce, the first in Washington, thanks to their 24 points in the fourth quarter. And then seeing off the Giants at home 27-20 to win their first game in Dallas this season. But their almost perfect week 13 only had one setback, a re-aggravated shoulder injury to star receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Going back to the third quarter, the Cowboys were already leading the Giants by 10 points. However, when only eight minutes of the quarter was left, Lamb tweaked something in his right shoulder. Although he tried to play through the pain for a few minutes, the All-Pro eventually left the game. This resulted in questions about him returning before the Cowboys’ Monday Night clash against the Bengals.
Well, it seems Lamb’s return is imminent in front of their home support in Dallas. After practising with the team on Thursday, Lamb said, “It comes with the territory, man. It’s about being a b-ller, and it’s about going out there and sacrificing, putting yourself out there for your guys. And that’s what I’m doing. As far as Monday goes, I’ll be fine by then.” As for Lamb, he has been struggling with shoulder injuries for a while now.

CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) has no doubts he will play Monday. “It comes with the territory man. It’s about being a baller and it’s about going out there and sacrificing, putting yourself out there for your guys. And that’s what I’m doing. As far as Monday goes, I’ll be fine by then.”

This week, just before announcing his status for the Cowboys’ clash against the Bengals. Lamb pointed out how he was still fighting with shoulder troubles, “I still have a shoulder injury, which I’ve been dealing with for about four or five weeks now.” You would have to go back to week 9 against the Falcons. That was the first time Lamb got his shoulder injured, and he has continued to play with the AC joint sprain since.
But this isn’t the first time Lamb has gone through shoulder pain. When he was still a freshman at Oklahoma State in 2017, Lamb had to face similar struggles. However, this season, his shoulder injuries could be the reason behind his lack of offensive flair.

CeeDee Lamb breaks silence on his uncharacteristic year
Let’s be real with ourselves. Lamb is not at all having a bad season. He just isn’t charismatic enough, like the Cowboys Nation know him for. The 25-year-old still leads the reception charts with 79 catches. His 880 receiving yards have brought him third place until 13 weeks of the NFL. However, there’s one thing that isn’t very Lamb-like. The 3-time Pro Bowler has 9 drops to his name this year. It’s his highest since 2020 when CeeDee was still a rookie finding his feet in the NFL.
What’s your perspective on:
Can CeeDee Lamb's grit lead the Cowboys to a playoff spot despite his nagging shoulder injury?
Have an interesting take?
But the Cowboys All-Pro believes he can easily get over this minor blip with the right mentality: “It’s more of a mental thing now. Obviously, I know what I bring to the table, and I know that’s not me. Just kind of battling myself to begin with. That’s an easy fix.” People could be thinking that Lamb is missing his usual partner, Dak Prescott, on the offense. And it could be right to some degree—Copper Rush is still setting into the Cowboys’ scheme of things—but Lamb praised him for his confidence and decision-making, which brought them the two wins on the bounce.

However, it remains to be seen whether the two can take their connection to the next level. As the Cowboys prepare for one last push for the playoffs this season, starting with the Bengals in Dallas.
