The Kansas City Chiefs celebrated their second consecutive Super Bowl with immaculate style and pomp this year. One memorable moment from the revelry was when Travis Kelce got a free ride on his teammate’s shoulders! Ahead of the tight end’s speech in the Super Bowl parade, Creed Humphrey carried the 250lb athlete on his shoulders to the cheer of fans.

However, this impressive carry might have been upstaged, and that too by Kelce himself! The 34-year-old surprised Swifties and football fans alike with a cameo at his girlfriend’s concert. Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour had a special guest in her London show last month who even played a part in her performance. The TE had to carry a limp-body Taylor to the couch in front of a jam-packed stadium, which gained him the center’s praise.

When asked who did the better carry, Humphrey promptly credited Kelce. “Definitely Trav carrying Taylor off the stage in that cameo; that was awesome,” he said via the Up&Adams Show. “Obviously, the whole world saw it, and he did it in front of millions of people, so it was cool.” He also shared that he had met the singer and described her as “very sweet.”

The dramatic cameo had fans swooning over the couple, this being the first time Taylor had brought any of her partners on stage. And all of this was Kelce’s idea, too! The Chiefs’ star shared the background story on the podcast with his brother, New Heights. While initially he suggested an entrance on a bike, the pop star elevated it to a different level. Bikes were dropped out of the idea, though, for safety reasons! Kelce further had one mantra for himself to carry Taylor: “Do not drop the baby.

The one thing I told myself is, do not drop the baby,” shared Kelce on the podcast. “Do not drop Taylor on your way over this damn couch. The golden rule was, do not drop Taylor, get her to the couch safely.” His inspiration behind the rule was from football, too, something former OC used to tell him. “Coach [Eric] Bieniemy always used to say, ‘That ball has our dreams, goals, and aspirations. You do not drop that ball.” While Kelce is using his football lessons on stage, head coach Andy Reid took a hilarious shot at the TE!

Andy Reid calls Travis Kelce Taylor’s “waterboy”!

Kelce awed everyone on stage at the Eras Tour, but Taylor owned the stage. The TE seemed to have enjoyed his experience and expressed how he had an “absolute blast.” He also praised his girlfriend, who had written him into the performance. “I was up there with three professionals. You can do no wrong when Taylor’s onstage. She’s the best to do it.” Kelce’s little act didn’t just get him Humphrey’s compliments, but also got the approval of the Chiefs’ head coach.

I think there’s a great escape for him,” Reid said via the Scoop City podcast, referring to Kelce’s appearance on the Eras Tour. “I said that about Taylor, too. I mean, she comes to the game, she can kind of escape having to be the show. Travis can do that when he goes to her concerts.” The coach didn’t stop here, though, but threw in a lighthearted dig at the athlete! He said, “She’s the star, and he can be hanging out there and be the support or the waterboy.”
