Did Cam Newton's comment to McCaffrey cross the line, or was it just friendly banter?

The San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey tied the knot with Olivia Culpo after 4 years of dating. From a mutual friend setting them up to having a star-studded wedding, the couple did the whole 9 yards leaving no stone unturned. Just like on the field, CMC had his team members present on his special day. Former league MVP Cam Newton felt bothered that he wasn’t invited.

But to McCaffrey’s defense, he did try to reach out to Cam Newton, not once, but many times. Still, he couldn’t get hold of the retired Panthers QB. From the looks of it, Newton just wanted the invite for the sake of it, even if he would have declined it. But guess who else was there? Among the teammates Brock Purdy and George Kittle, it was commentator Greg Olsen’s presence that fired up Cam Newton.

“I wanted to be there bro! I wanted to be like Greg Olsen! From the picture it looked like they needed some color anyway!” said Newton in a rant on his 4th and 1 show. For what it’s worth, McCaffrey did look like “James Bond” in that tuxedo he was wearing at the wedding. But believe it or not, McCaffrey had been waiting for a reply for the last 4 years, but Cam didn’t reach out to him for some reason.

“And what’s really embarrassing is when I look at how many times I texted this number on some “hope you’re well bro” type shit and just sat there like an idiot,” mentioned McCaffrey in a reply on X.

What put the nail in the coffin was the 4 and 1 show posing a screenshot from Instagram. It was a post from Christian McCaffrey depicting a conversation that he had with Greg Olsen. McCaffrey did admit that he missed Newton and told Olsen, “If Cam were here. I haven’t got a text back in 4 years. In fact, they just go green now.”

By the looks of it, the people on social media are upset with CMC for leaving Cam Newton on the sideline. Looking at the post-wedding photo shoot, it’ll be easy to figure out why Cam Newton felt the way he did. Well for one, everything looked so fun.

What really happened at Christian McCaffrey’s wedding?

Multiple photos are going viral from the wedding, but one in particular caught everyone’s eye. It’s the same photo Newton was looking at. The photo shows all the power couples that attended the wedding like the Kittle’s, the Juszczyk’s, and the latest football couple, the McCaffrey’s. But what caught everyone’s eye was Greg Olsen and his unkempt attire.

The 39-year-old looked very inebriated during the wedding with his collar wrinkled, frizzy hair and a face that said, “I’m having a blast here.” Some even think that he was drinking his woes away because Tom Brady took his job at Fox. One thing is for sure, Olsen would have needed a designated driver to get home after the ceremony.

Even the coach Kyle Shanahan and his wife were invited to the wedding. So it made more sense that Cam Newton didn’t get an invite. Well, McCaffrey did try to clear the air on on his Instagram and X, but from what it looks like, the netizens don’t really buy into what CMC was saying. On the upside though, the 49ers running back scored a 2-year $38 million extension and got married to a beautiful lady.
